Is this just ridiculously big?

I would put it where the esc used to sit...

If you are going to use this pack Max Amps has some 430 batteries same size and about same price.

Does the Hyperion G3 have a balance plug? the website's picture looks like it doesn't. What would be the best way to charge without a balance plug?

I would say no it doesn't have one simply because it doesn't show it in the pictures, yet some of the other batteries in the pictures do have the balance plugs. I would look for one with balance plug, you don't want to charge a multi cell lipo without properly balance charging it

I got the hyperion 240 and burnt it up on my charger. I did find this battery on the same website http://www.rclipos.com/ThunderPowerProlite.htm

thunder power prolite 250mah with balance plug. I havent' got it yet so I can't review it, but I'm sure it's a good one.

I still don't have it yet, but the website has the physical size measurements listed. It's just 2 mm wider than the hyperion so it *should* fit the rear axle.

I'll definitely post if it fits or not when I get it.

I picked up two single cell 400mah batteries from my lhs and made a series connector.. the nice thing is that these packs have the same battery connector as the stock battery (i opted for micro deans connectors).. The packs are $9.99 a piece at my lhs, although i bet you can get them cheaper online. The package says "Novs CX/FP". The part number is GPMP0408. They work great! Last forever too.

350mah 2s, fit great. You need to bend the wires a bit so they don't get hung up on the shock springs but no issues yet.
I purchased 3 of these and so far have only used one. I haven't gone through full charge yet in one session. I'm usually done driving before it's dead. I may need to find some other toys to put the spare batteries into!

these batteries are very nice. i ordered 5 of them for my mrc pro originally. when i got my second micro i needed a lipo. (i traded my last one along with everything i had for it) these fit real nice, and as stated in the post above, you only need one.

Out of curiosity how long does a little 350mah last on a larger MRC?

around 5-6 minutes, or one course at a comp.

Default another possibility?

what about running two of these, one on the chassis and one on the front servo? (I have no knowledge of batteries or RC electronics - 12v in yachts and jeeps is all I have worked with so bear with me here)

http://www.batteryspace.com/li-ionba...mini185wh.aspx

These are from the iPod Mini and have internal protection from over and dis charging. I would imagine they would charge with a USB cord?

why are people so damn determined to stuff giant battery packs in micros?
just get 2-4 lipos 360mah or less and swap them out as the previous dies out.
this way you have
longer run times in total compared to one giant pack
WAY better performance and handling than a gigantic heavy lipo pack
and also if you go for bigger packs and have only one and it goes bad you are SOL and need to order another pack anyway.

A close look would reveal these batteries I have asked about to be a mere 14 grams, with quite high aH. None the less I hear what you are saying - thank you for the feedback. IT seems that the standard today is to use Lipo battteries with their special chargers and it has been confirmed that the Losi ECS has a low voltage cutoff so the change out is quite simple?
