Hey all, looking back in some of the posts in this thread, I found this battery on everyone's favorite auction site. I ordered one for my Trekker, and will keep y'all posted as to how it works out. Cheers, MtN C. |

I know that this has been posted up before, but i went and bought the Xcelorin lipo mini kit. Its a 180mah 7.4v lipo. It has wayyyy better speed and gave me about 18min of solid bashing and fit right into the stock location. Its a great mod for someone who wants to get more power without modding anything. Here it is:Losi: LiPo Charger & Battery: Micro-T/B/DT: Losi (LOSB0862) I was also thinking about getting the slightly larger pack and mounting it on top of the rear axle. That pack is slightly larger and 250mah. here is the larger pack:Losi: 7.4V 300mAh 2S 15C LiPo/Charger Combo: Micro-DT: Losi (LOSB0872) The pack that i saw at HobbytownUSA was a 250mah and this is a 300mah pack.... The question that i have is..........can that wall charger charge any other small lipos? The lipo alone was right a $35 for the batt pack alone! It would be sweet if it was possible to charge some of these $2 and $3 lipos with that wall charger. Im super noob to batteries and chargers. |

Personally I only Like Lipos with a balance tap and charge via a balancing charger. Back in the early days of lipos I didn't like the non balancing pack. none have survived the years

In short, you need a balance charger to keep the two 3.7V cells balanced while charging. Each 3.7V cell in a LiPO battery (of any size) should ideally be balanced, or the same voltage as the others in the pack. If one cell is abnormally higher or lower than the others, the battery cells are stressed and will eventually fail (sometimes quickly). You can work out the size of a LiPO battery from its S rating - 1S = 3.7V cell, so 2S = 2x3.7V cells and 6S = 6x3.7V cells, etc etc. You'll be using maybe 1S but probably 2S for your Trekker/Micro if you change to LiPO batteries. A 2S LiPO battery's operating range is from 8.4V (full) to between 6.4V and 7.0V (empty; depending on user preference and LiPO cut-off settings; higher is safer). Some LiPO batteries have balancing and cut-off circuitry built-in, but the more common versions are simply cells in a packet with a power plug and balancing plug. These simpler batteries rely on LiPO low-voltage cut-off circuitry in your model's ESC (or separately) or else for the user to intervene when the voltage visibly drops (as soon as max wheel speed decreases dramatically - definitely the inferior way to 'care' for your LiPOs!). Personally, I use the following simple LiPO setup: - Turnigy 370mAh 2S LiPO battery pack (link) (This 460mAh one is a shade fatter but still fits in my Trekker) - HXT LiPO battery monitor (link)* - Turnigy 200W Balance Charger (link) - Fiberglass fireproof LiPO charging bag (link) * mounted on my model so I can see when the battery is getting low/unbalanced. The balance plug on the battery connects to this, enabling the device to read the voltage per cell (same with how the charger works; it trickle-charges through the balance plug to top-up or drain individual cells to ensure they're all balanced precisely). I just got twp zippy flightmax 2S 20C 350mah packs from hobbyking. I also got the simple 2s-3s turnigy balance charger (~$5) now I have a perfect setup. I happened to have a 12V 1.5A power supply with the right size plug for the charger (lucky) that works perfectly. Batteries charge in about 15-20 minutes and give easily 45+ minute run times with a 56T aluminum spur gear and a 90 turn DDT motor. The motor barely even gets warm on a hard run. In contrast the stock motor would get worryingly hot within 5 minutes. Also the stock motor was way too fast at 7.4v, and made crawling nearly non existent. These batteries are perfect for the price even if hobbyking takes 3 weeks to get it to California. |

All I know is the shipper was Swiss Post, and they didnt regularly update the tracking info. I dont know how these batteries last so long. I get bored after 50 minutes (longest run so far.) So, if I ever need more batteries, I know what I am getting. |

If it is puffed, you should feel a pocket of air in one or both cells. I think they appear swollen because of their size, but actually they are fine. I had to look at mine real close because i thought the same thing. If you don't notice a pocket of air and they don't get hot or even warm you are fine. Just make sure you take all precautions when charging.

Losi micro battery terminal set. Search Google or ebay for that, you'll see them.
