Default Scale frame.... And a 72 stepside

So there you guys go, I guess this is the first scale frame? lol But I went with a 72 stepside and I have sorta figured out the colors I want to do. I found it was easier to used the model frame than make the truck fit on the OEM frame. Not to mention it should look pretty sweet when it is all done. But I sadly will not get to do much today, as I am getting a new heli (Blade 400) to have some fun with.

Hate to break it to you but that is the 2nd scale frame. Check out my 4-Runner.
Rocked Out 4-Runner

I think yours will look much better. Will be cool to see how it performs. Looks like a great start.

Damn....... I really like yours. I think yours will perform better. Mine has zero articulation in the front, Jut horizontal movement. The rear upon completion should be really good. But I am going more for looks than anything. After I have this one built I plan on doing some performance tweaks.
I have to say I have more respect for yours, Mine might look nice but it honestly comes from me being lazy and not wanting to make it proper frame to run on.

Also have to give props on the 4runner, My dad had one with 489,672 miles on it before a timing chain slacked out and wore a hole in the housing causing coolant to get in the oil. It was supposed to be my first car

That sucks that the ol 4-runner crapped out before you got it. Thanks for all the props on my rig. This ain't my first rodeo with styrene. I've been building models for about 20 years. I have seen a couple other guys using the model chassis but nothing finished yet. I am curious to see how those turn out and how long it is before a micro K2 or something comes out.

No, it's just been brought back into production, we've got 2-3 of them at work.

Yeah, I messed up... good catch.

IN other news the frame is complete and running Made an extended drive shaft last night got the rear suspension working real nice to help make up for the front. I am having some issues still with my worm gears clicking. When I tear down for paint I will double check everything.

Not in the pic but still fun, I made a working tail gate for the truck and later today I am going to pick up some airplane flex-hinge at work so I can make the bonnet work as well since I plan to stash the batteries and esc under there.

Here is a pic I ran out and grabbed this morning..

Not really sure what happened to the frame though. I think the plasti-weld might have screwed something up.. will fix later today.
