servo going crazy - wants to zig zag when i wanna go straight. help please!

anyone else having this? though it wasn't bound right, so i did the bind thing again. at least its not the throttle. it cant be the TX, servo does it when its on or off. video shows i still have controll, but it still has a mind of its own. we dont have cordless phones here.

i have made sure the ESC board is not touching anything and it is shrink wrapped.

what else can i check?

BEELZEBOB 12-18-2009 11:40 AM

sounds like a fried servo.

check the signal wires from the servo to your ESC.

make sure there are no bends or breaks in the wires, and make sure they are all plugging into the esc port tightly.

other than that, see if it persists when another servo is plugged into the ESC

username 12-18-2009 11:46 AM

well that would be to easy now wouldnt it! these things hold up ok without a saver?

BEELZEBOB 12-18-2009 11:52 AM

also make sure all you batteries (in the charger and Tx are new and strong)

could just be your Tx losing connection

Looks to me like a servo that can't find it's center point.

I'd either try that servo in another rig or try a known good servo in the Micro, see what happens...

Gizmo 12-18-2009 12:47 PM

mine did this for a little while until I changed out the transmitter batteries. hasn't acted up since

ABOW 12-18-2009 12:48 PM

Plug in a nother servo ( any size)

If it still dose the same thing YOu need a new Esc
If not you just need a servo

BEELZEBOB 12-18-2009 12:49 PM

check you damn battereis!! LOL

username 12-18-2009 03:24 PM

thanks. tried another servo plugged in which worked fine.

so i took the stock servo apart, nothing i could see that looked odd. put it back together and seems to be fine now. time will tell. at least these parts arent to spendy being micro and all.

ABOW 12-18-2009 04:45 PM

good it might not have been pluged in all the way

_NICO_ 12-19-2009 10:43 AM

My servo did that for the first couple packs then it just stopped.

Devinb 12-31-2009 04:27 PM

Mine does it every now and then. I've checked all my wires, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. After a couple of packs it does it less, but it's still there. Hopefully it goes away. When it's really prevalent, I can hear a high-pitched whine coming from the servo, like it's getting signals to do something but can't decide what.

username 12-31-2009 04:44 PM

I told losi and got a replacement today.

Devinb 12-31-2009 05:02 PM

How did you tell Losi? Email? Phone? Do you have their contact info handy?

cipe 01-04-2010 09:32 PM

same problem here. emailed losi, they want me to send them the servo AND the esc/rx to diagnose which it is. also, they need my recipt, which is gone...

so i took the servo apart, found an eyelash inside ?!?, put back together, and voila it works.

go figure

Katon 01-04-2010 10:23 PM

Heh looks like a JR servo when they go bad, could be the smallest particle inside when it tries to find center the piece pushes it too far and misses, dunno. Reminds me of JR tho :P

Sydwaiz 01-07-2010 09:58 PM

Hmm, I just bought one today, a BND. Does the same thing. Bound it twice to my DX3 and same thing. Bound it to my DX3R and same thing. Gonna contact Losi now.

Devinb 01-07-2010 10:16 PM

After running a few packs through it, it's working fine now.

Sydwaiz 01-07-2010 10:36 PM

Maybe there IS shit inside keeping it from finding center like Katon said, and it just needs to be worked out. I'll run it a little and see what happens.

brushlessnut 01-08-2010 11:28 AM

mine started this about 6 packs ago and is only gettin wrost with each pack i may try this taking it apart to see if that helps if that dont then it looks like time for a new servo
