...last? Wasn't it also the only twin smoker?

That group photo rocks! Might have to tear apart my Z400 model and try that too! (same as that green one you got, just yellow)

Thanks for the positive feedback! I'm excited at the great response. I flipped through the thread with all the pictures in it and noticed that there weren't any ATVs. I was sure someone had the same idea as me. Maybe they just haven't posted pictures yet?

I had the ATV on my mind as a project before the micro came out. Doing our scale trail runs, I thought it would be cool to have a scale quad or atv running with us. I got the idea from our local trail spot. The full size trucks and quads run there too. Why not replicate that too?

My first plans involved micro T parts, but it seemed like a lot of work. It never got past the drafting table. That's when I stumbled across this Micro Crawler.

It's not the excact scale I was looking for, but it does just fine. It's more of a 1:10 scale youth size. A full size is wider and longer. It did make easy work for my project. I still think about making the full size scale, but I don't think it'll happen. Wife's pregnant with our first, work's busy, house maintanence is demanding. Bla, bla, bla. Git 'er done!

Oh, ya. The magnets. I took some more pictures tonight, with more detail. I'll add them to the first post if I can.

I'll just post them here. You can see by this drawing that the micro crawler is smaller than a 1:10 scale ATV. The boxes are the foot print of where the tires would be. The ones on the left are a 1:10 scale ATV compared to the actual size of the Micro Crawler on the right.

Here's the magnets. One's on the body under the seat and the other is on the chassis. You can find Neo Magnets at most craft stores. They are rediculously strong. They influence eachother from as far as 6" away.

Here's what I did with the crawler body and the chassis from the toy atv.

Here's some more pictures of the truck. I've added some decails and custom Finnish licence plate. The lights are on for these too.

These street kids wandered on to the set while I was shooting. They were harmless. We gave them some spare change and they were on there way. Jimmy was kinda worried for a minute, but he kept his cool.

Here's a video clip showing the quick-change battery clip magnetic action.

FYI if you have hard drives sitting around broken or to small, they have great magnets and i use them all over my tool bench as well to keep my drivers and pliers up within reach. plus they usually have a small hole just the right size to put a drywall screw thru.

hope i can save someone a trip to the craft store.

disclamer. you can hurt your fingers if you put them between.

Are you wondering where I got the atv body and rider?

It's a New Ray brand toy. 1:12 scale.

Matt, thanks for the PM and this link. I picked mine up at Toys R Us, 6.99. They had several different ones from the Kawi to the Banshee. They were manufactured by Fastlane toys.1/12th scale, labeled as die cast. The only thing die cast is the lower motor case.As mine sits right now it will stand on its side, when I add the motor it most likley wont.....but who cares, this is such a cool body for these.

Thanks again for sharing you ride and giving us all another choice/idea

Odd, just searched Toys R Us and entered sku numbers and many other multple options and variations....no luck finding them.

The box is right here in front of me.

Good luck as this really sets the Micro off

I found this one on Ebay and bought one for my own scale project. If I'm not careful I will have more micro crawlers than 1:10 scales!

Alpha Male, I have that same one sitting on my desk. Had it planned for the bed of a 1/10 scaler that I have yet to finish.

I'm looking forward to seeing other modded atv's. That camo atv destroys mine. I'm lovin' the detail of the bow and arrows.
