Mount Me Crawler Course UPDATED 01-05-10 Heres my mountain im building for my micro I have named it Mount ME. I tried her out today, traction is lacking but once i get plaster and paint on her she should be just fine. http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262467645 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262467688 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262467722 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262467778 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262467877 |

is that lions back ;) |
have you considered using like an automotive 3M rubberized undercoating for the top paint layer? it would be awesome... and you'd have lots of grip |
Awesome! Funny how the Micro has brought out the 'arts and crafts' side of so many RC guys! Very cool! "thumbsup" |
Not big enough for lions back. Plus he would need a scale yota to wedge in the cliff. That would be the bomb if someone did make a scale Lions back. I wonder where I could get a topographic map off it. Then just use that as a template for your sheets of insulation. |

i wonder if the truck bed liner will eat up your tires really bad.. the 3m undercoating is the exact same but without the sand in it.. I'm looking forward to see how this turns out! it looks killer so far! you should build a little popsicle stick bridge from one peak to the next ;) |
Even unfinished, it's my favorite one so far. Excellent climbs, off cambers, ledges, cliffs and serious altitude! Can't wait to see the finished product.....I also think a suspended bridge would be sweet. |
i used undercoating on my course and it worked great.i just layed it on really thick and poured sand on top of it while it was still wet. waited about fifteen mins and dumped the loose stuff. it does flake off a little bit but still works great. |
i tried it on a cou-le spots and then sprayed some rock fleck paint on it. i may have made the course alittle to tough fot a stock truck most of the linnes on the creek side the truck has a real hard time doing. think its because of the 800 mah lipo on my front axle. I need to get a 300 mah and try her some more.I think that the extended wheelbase trucks will do real well. i |
The best covering I found is to screw down cheapo burlap, and cover with resin epoxy (Lowe's) coating. You put it on with a paint brush and it dries hard as a rock. After that, you can spray paint it any way you want. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/101_2518.jpg |
After spending some time crawling on mount ME I decided that i was happy with the course the way it was i can always plaster over the paint if i decide to. Any way i decided to go abead and spray some bed liner on half and ges some paint on her. here are a few pics. http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262578368 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262578667 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262578726 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262578766 still gonna put in some real rocks, make some bushes and trees but its moving along. let me know what you think bull |
sweet! looks great! you bound to be able to make some good looking videos whit this coarse! |
I got the other half of the course painted today and added the bushes and trees. I think it looks great. It looks better than in the pics because you cant see alot of the shading and texture. i still need to go creek diving and get some rocks for the creek. http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725016 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725205 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725258 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725308 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725350 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725379 http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1262725379 |
Mount YOU is looking great, it really makes me want a basement "thumbsup" |
that is a huge battery! its gotta run forever. that course looks awsome, you should make the creek functional, flow a little water down it. |
