Sweet, a nice original style build. Check the link below, easy instructions on how to do double (or as many as you want) axles. Go for it!!!! http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=44873 |

So this is the truck you were telling me about through the PM's eh? Should be an interesting build, personally I think a tandem axle would be better suited for a tow truck rather than a 4X4. Just my 2 cents |

yup, i'm gonna go tandem. just gotta get ahold of an extra axle. i don't really want to buy a whole truck just for one axle. for the motor i am going to use a 180 size with a 25:1 reduction unit. a 4 channel Rx is going in, along with a home brewed transfer case made out of pinion gears. the smaller motor is stock |

Well it's been awhile so I thought I would tell whats going on. This truck has been on hold because of missing parts, (like an axle) but don't worry all you interested viewers. I just went ahead and bought a second truck. Hopefully it will be here soon. i could use extra part anyway. I hope to have pics of progress up by the end of the week. Thanks for looking |

Still waiting on drive line parts for the truck, so in the mean time I thought I would start on the hydraulic ram for the boom. really the ram is going to be an actuator. pics are of the stock servo modified (new pot) to turn 360* continuously. should be interesting.

| if your talking about the truck it self, it's a ford LNT 9000. if your asking about the model kit it's an AMT Ertl. here's a link for one. http://cgi.ebay.com/AMT-ERTL-FORD-LO...item3ee85447a2 |

Looks very nice so far. I'm actually curious to see how this turns out! Are you going to leaf all three axles or just the rears?

| well this is going to be a tow truck. i saw one simaler when i was in the U P afew weeks ago. it was an 1980's LNT 9000 with a boom and a plow. this will be the same as what i saw, just 1970, and no plow. (80's has square headlights, 70's has round.) i'm curious too. i hope it turns out like i hope. also yes on the springs for all three axles. |

got more work done on this little beast. drive shaft in made out of a pen magnet. still need to put on the shocks and maybe a sway bar. how do you peeps feel about this truck being a four door? just a thought, i have extra cabs and parts for these types of trucks. |

That looks pretty cool David! I actually like the idea of a 4 door. And also...very...interesting how you did up the suspension on this one. Actually I've never seen it done like that...ever
