Foams

Will be replacing my beadlock rings with something heavier soon, wondering what everyone is doing for foams. Is anyone trying out star cutting theirs, or is this rig light enough to be run without them altogether? I'm going to be running a DP torsion chassis, so the rig should be fairly light overall. Thanks!

i star cut my foams and ran it..i personally saw no difference. i then took the foams out again and cut the tips of the stars off. (basically cutting the diameter in half) ran it again. it was a little better.. then i removed them and was happy. i believe that most (with the comp. rigs) are using small BB's and no foams. please don't quote me on that. me, i have no foams and about 16" of solder around each front rim and 12" around the rears.

Is that 45-50g per front wheel, or the weight of both fronts together?

EACH!
It sounds heavy, and it is....but have you seen my truck crawl?
I let it speak for its self

Any problems with breaking drivetrain parts with that much weight?

How many BBs does that translate to? I've got 30 in each front and 16 in each rear. Should I use more?

I run my truck heavy too, i think the last time it was weighed it was around 330 total.
No broken parts, very happy motor, its only ran for a max of 5 mins at a time though, just long enough for a gated course.

What kind of run-time are you getting from that?

i run a 100Mah in my comp rig, i timed it at 7:35 which is perfect cause they only need to last for a 5 minute gated course.

I realize that. Was wondering how that converts to BBs.
