I would say use an Atomic BB motor, change the pinion and spur, sidewinder micro esc, and at least a 7.4v lipo. The big flaw lies in the drive lines...I am really unsure of how much they can handle. I have 3 rigs and have yet to break a driveline using a 7.4 lipo but I am also pretty nice to my rigs with the throttle. I think the drive lines will become a weak link on anything designed for the purpose of more power, speed, and abuse. Other than that...I am doing one and will post the build and results as I go. i was trying for a rock racer but gave up. i couldnt get enough speed. as for the drive lines i believe HR is making an aluminum set but they havent been released yet. maybe try the TMC chassis with the BB2 large pinion and 49T spur and maybe an 11.1 lipo if it can handle that much battery

It's just not built for speed, especially with the worm gears. One may have better luck bashing a MicroT or something similar.
