Default 2s lipo

Hi - I just want to 100% clarify the use of 2s lipo's in Micro's - I don't want to buy some & fry my Son's pride-n-joy.

Can I use a 2s lipo with STOCK RECEIVER, ESC, MOTOR & SERVO ?

I read lots of examples of people buying them but it's not always obvious / easy to check if they're using stock kit.

Cheers - A

Mine works perfectly on a 2S lipo. The stock ESC even has a low voltage cutoff set for 6.4V....

yes, 2s will work, and as mentioned, has the low voltage cut off!

I've a lipo charger so should be good to go

I run the losi 2s 180mah lipos. It comes with an "hour" charger and it works great for $50 @ LHS

I run these lipos on my micro:
http://krawlerhobbies.1freecart.com/...micro-lipo.htm

And they are great! The last about 40 minutes and the wheelspeed is perfect! You will have to change your plug into the ESC (either change to JST on the ESC or change the battery to that losi plug). They fit well too:

I have a couple of the same that JeremyH is using... I like them better than the Losi 180mah.

Li-po is the answer to these micro's.

What are your losi 2s lipo run times, krono7s? Actual recharge time?

Thanks.

I run 360 mah ( rhino ) and 240 mah ( hyperion ) and even tho i have not timed my runs i can say that all is well regarding run-times

I prefer the hyperions as they dont have a balancer plug, and the 360 mha ones are the biggest ones i have seen mounted on the rear axle.

I even have a couple of 1s 240 mah hyperions, but thats damm slow and stall when a little "load" is applied.

I contemplate installing the biggest spur i can get to try and ease a little up on the trottle control with 2 s lipos.

Everything was stock when i startes using 2 s lipos, and it still is aside from the sweet hitec steering servo i got to replace the dead stock servo ( killed plastic gears in it )

How did you determine 6.4V cutoff? That sounds right, but the manual doesn't explicitly state there is a LiPo cutoff AFAIK. I searched for just about everything I could think of within the PDF and found no references. Is this an undocumented feature?

I use the Losi 300mAh 2S in my micro Silverado Scaler(Micro Rock Crawler based), originally used in my BL Micro DT which gets about 25+ min run times. The Silverado usually gets 20-25 minute run times but for a micro, its 9.1" long and heavy for a micro so yeah. Would never run NiMH in one of these little guys ever again after using LiPo

I use 6 AAA rechargeable 900mAh batts that i had just laying around the house. I've run them for over an hour but something on the truck allways breaks before the batts die.
