*** brushed motor option *** anyone have found a good brushed motor that work fine with the stock esc for more runtime and less heat ? the stock one get too hot with the stock battery and I never tested 7.2v but I just cant imagine this.. and look like not the good for the application losi have throw in it ... maybe a can a little longer will stay cold... this is funny a motor overheat easily on a little rc like this .. we should play all the day without to care about this.. I can accept the heat on a 60mph rc @ 11lbs but not on this micro.. |
I run a BBII from thetoyz.com $15 lots more torque and wheel speed, gets a little warm but not hot |
this one ? ; http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...BAJA,%20%20DT# how do it work on 2s lipo do it can run 30min more without going over 140-150f ? |
The runtime would depend on the battery, weight, how you drive ect ect |
I just found out that the motor included with the micro crawler are the same as the micro-t use ... same part numbers "LOSB0833" ... I think the heat issue is due more of a bad motor for this application .. they wanted so save up some money... and now we need to upgrade it ... |

Just my 2 cents...I have had 2 of these motors in micro's...one on single cell lipo was a good speed and torque combo but got hot after 10 minutes. It got hot enough to shut down. It came back to life but never was the same. Another one was on a 7.4 lipo and it is a little fast for the micro. It got REALLY HOT. I call this motor option "just ok"...definitely better than stock but imo not quite good enough. |
stock motor all the way it works great for me never gets hot even tho i run 2s lipo w/ total weight of 300g and running 30+ mins and i did find out that there is a difference between stock crawler and stock micro t the one for the crawler is about $1 more and is worth it id say your motor is worn out |

Are there other motors of the same can diameter but longer? Maybe non RC applications? Not that it's needed, just a passing thought. |
