It's a simple looking design, I'm sure I could replicate something close to it. Just gotta find the time...

Just mounted up a new Micro lid from Rockthrasher Paint and Graphics.

I like the stock body so I had Jason paint one for me that matches my comp rigs, it turned out really nice.

Thanks Midlife, I actually like the stock body it fits well. In fact I didn't get to wild on any of the modifications on this rig it's only been breathed on slightly and I like it that way.

I was lurking on ebay one day and found some Redcat shocks, they looked interesting and I decide to order a set.

Redcat Racing Sumo Aluminum Shock Set Part # 24600 | eBay

When they came they the shock body and shaft looked about right and pretty easy to mod them to fit my Losi Micro.

I stripped them down cut some Losi rod ends to the appropriate lengths did the standard cap mod and reassembled them using standard Mini T springs and heavy silicone oil.

They fit perfectly and after some tweaking on the amount of oil I was able get a different front and rear effect. I put it on the rocks few times prior to this post and I must say they have taken all the bounce out of my rig and they have improved performance all for about $15.

I thought you'd want to know.

Heres some picks taken during the process.

I also extended my wheel base to 4 1/2" which is about right for me.

Yes they do clear, I running BWD spacers for the Vortex wheels. The spacers give those big tires plenty of room.

Thanks, hell yeah get it down and dust it off. I find working on my Micro kind of a challenge, out of the box their not to much but you can actually get them pretty rock worthy. This little guy has lots of run time on it.

Thanks, your going to like it. The trick is using a small headed screw for the cap mod so it doesn't interfere with shock travel to much and it's only $15 to dampen your Micro. It makes a nice difference.

Rig looks good bud, nice find on the shocks. I got myself a set after seeing your post, they shipped very fast, had em in a couple of days. I found that the micro crawler springs fit well inside the shock body so I set them up as internal springs. One question, do your "stick" after sitting for a while? Mine will be stuck and hard to get moving if they sit long, once they are freed up they work great again until they sit. Doesnt matter if they are fully extended, halfway, or fully compressed, if they sit, they stick. Just curious.

Hey GB, sounds like the silicone might be a little thick or you overfilled. Mine didn't stick and don't require a warm up. I've got less silicone oil in the front than the rear. Maybe the inside spring has something to do with it?

I've still got to get the wheel weighs made I fell behind on projects I re built both comp trucks and the little Micro was last to get attention.

Good to hear from you bud.

hmmm... I have seen that before. Make sure it's really a silicone based oil. I think the rubber "O" rings may be breaking down.

I removed the "O" rings to do the cap mod and never replaced them, no leakage problems so far.
