Default ~~ Storm's 'Pinched" Losi Micro with oil filled shocks ~~

Decided to get with the program and get a Losi Micro Crawler and found a un-molested used one on Ebay for a song. I have to admit I wasn't sure if it would keep my attention for very long.

The Losi Micro section here on RCC was a huge help with so many great builds and info threads. Thanks to you all.

Here's my micro rig.

"Pinch" Chassis by SVEN
ecoli Truggy Cage
Hitec HS-65MG Servo
Hot Racing Aluminum Center Trans Case (not the gear cover)
RC4WD Rox Loxs on BDW Vertex Micro-Locks
RC4WD Rock Crushers and Pressed Steel Wheels
Micro T Springs ~ Rear set (red/r white/f)
Flightmax Lipo 380 mah S2

Mods.

Motor Flip
Noodle Wiring threw out
Front link reverse for steering clearance
Heat shrunk receiver/ECS
20 G of bird shot front tires only (no foam)

The Pinch chassis is really well designed IMO SVEN hit it out of the park, if I had to choose just one thing I could do with a stock Micro it would be a SVEN "Pinch"

In these pictures I mounted my body posts to low, by using the bottom hole for the screw and it tore out don't do that. My fault you must use 3 holes for a strong post mounting I only used the bottom two.

I found that my circuit board holder made a great third hand for working on the rig.

My Shock set up. The gas tubing fits real tight and you can slice a little off to adjust spring tension. Then I found a really small tube and used small pieces to limit the over all movement.

Made a simple Velcro battery mount

Some body on shots.

Looks great stormin, I really like the rear cage on there. I think I'm gonna have to build another one after seeing some of y'alls pinch chassis builds. What lipo are you using? How do you like the roclox?

I actually built this truck last summer so I'll have to check out your build I guess great minds think a like. (Hey I just checked you build thread and you went one step further with a duel rate set-up mine is only a single.) I actually changed my shock locations based on my driving preference I like my rigs stiffer in the back and front than the stock holes allowed and that move made it right for me. It did give me a little more room for the Lipo but not very much.

I have crushers as well mounted on RC4WD's pressed steel wheels all the tires are pretty equal imo. I posted some pictures of the Crushers on RC4WD wheels. The wheels were pretty involved to mount tiny (screws) but they look great.

Thanks

The Pinch is a awesome chassis I hope some of my crawling buddies who have driven this truck post up their opinions it works better than any Micro I've ever driven.
I'm running Zippy Flightmax 380 2S.
The Rox Lox are great looking but so are the Crushers they work about the same I'm going to sipe the Crushers so we'll see.
I'm going to do a scaler next on springs just for show.

I couldn't find them looks like they might have been replaced with these.

Nice looking wheel looks the offset might give a wider track?

From what I understand the steel beadlocks are no longer available. Those that have had them said it was a pain to mount the tyres due to the way they were designed.

For the new wheels they are the same offset as the factory wheels, I might actually pick some of them up and do a review of them. Wasn't to keen on them at first and was going to go with the BWD wheels but they have grown on me and would fit really nice with the build I would like to do.

Mounting the steel wheels was a bit of a pain and finding nuts to mount them with also took some creativity. The new RC4WD wheel is good looking I was hoping the offset might give a wider stance. The Vertex wheel is slightly wider than stock and tires mount themselves great set of wheels if you change tires a lot.

Very nice buld Norm! The color combos and that tuber top make it look like one of the 'big' crawlers.

Thank you Steve, everyone who has driven it has been amazed at how well it handles myself included. Your chassis is spot on for the Micro Crawler very nice design.

Here's a poser shot.

The Micro T rear springs are the ones you want.

ecoli built some of these I'm not to sure how many. I've seen a few, JeremyH has one I found mine in the RCC for sale section. It really gives the stock body some attitude doesn't it?

Hey Mike, thanks for posting your oppinion from your test drive.
SVEN has a real nice design here with this Pinch chassis.
Seriously if you only did one mod to a stock Losi Micro the Pinch is the biggest bang for the buck.

You and everyone else that has bought a Pinch have said so many good things about it I ordered one myself. Now if only someone would have some beadlocks in stock I would order them as well.

While I think about it, what size heat shrink did you use on your ESC/RX?

Thumbs up on your crawler btw, looking real good.
