Default Monsterman's Losi Micro Crawler Scale Build "Project Scout:"

Well its winter and I cant run the Baja's.. Well I guess I can but I am not going to freeze my gonads off doing it so I am sticking to the inside for the time being. I have a AX10 RTR that has sat on the shelf and collected dust for a few years, also have a Losi Mini Rock Crawler that is on the shelf collecting dust too. But recently I picked up a Losi Micro Rock Crawler "thanks to the guys over on HBF for pointing out the sweet deal" hopmeup on Fleabay had them listed for $39.99 so I jumped on it and snagged up one. Figured it would be cool to play around with in the house, nice and small etc.. Well when it got here I quickly came back to RCC and got sucked in again! LOL
Which is a good thing btw..

Well after doing some reading and searching I noticed that a lot of guys were slapping 1/24 Model bodies on their Losi Micro Crawlers.. Well I have been building models since I can remember and I have a HUGE and I mean HUGE Pantry/Storage room filled from floor to ceiling on all 4 walls full of 1/24, 1/12 and all scales in between. From Muscle Cars, to Motorcycles.. So I went digging through my HUGE collection and the first thing that really jumped out was a Toyota P/U Truck but after pulling the body out and looking at it mounted up the wheel wells were just to far off to look right. Then I saw the Scout II by AMT and grabbed the box.. This one fits real nice and I like the way it looks..

Just need to find some new Rims/Tires for it, maybe do a few more mods. Some new shocks, chassis and a few odds and ends but I am happy with how it looks..

So let the Scout II Scale Build/Project begin...

All Stock with a couple of the mods done "thanks RCC"

And here is the AMT Scout II body all mocked up..

Been looking at Rims/Tires..

Remembered a Company I bought some Rims/Tires from awhile back for a Plastic Jeep Model Project I had been working on.. It had a lift and I needed something bigger then what normally comes in that particular model kit or any others..

Anyhow.. Anyone ever heard of or used So Real Rims/Tires before??

I found these @ RPPHobby..

1- So Real Concepts 44" Trxus MT w/ Weld Stone Crusher Wheels
http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/sor10005-00.htm

2- So Real Concepts 49" Irok Super Swampers w/Weld Stone Crusher Wheels
http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/sor10003-00.htm

And here is more of the So Real products.. They look pretty good I think I'll just order up a set and see how they look..

Are you looking for something to go for a Scale look or for better crawling?

The little 1/24 Micro Crawler isnt the best crawler for crawling I've learned that pretty quick, just looking for a scale look..
