I removed that screw and smoothed the area where it was on the front axle and the skid helps alot for the screw on the rear axle. | |

Thank you. Going to have to follow up on that. Your crawler is cool looking i like the chassis w the big coil over shocks & hoops.

This is one of the coolest crawlers I've ever seen! How much to make me a chassis? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |

So, how does it hold up to the abuse or crawling? do you get this out on the trail at all?

I have driven it on the rocks pictured in post #75 around 20 times and a few more than that inside on carpet. I catch it with my hand or foot alot when I think I'm gonna roll. The metal roof takes most of it but I have broken the front shock loop twice from falling 6-10" and just reglued it and touched up the paint. Also scratched the side panels up but I have 2 extras I made. I do baby it though.

think drilling and pining with small metal rods would strengthen joints like that up enough to survive a day or two of crawling?

Got tired of looking for something to put this on to keep the weight off the tires and prevent flat spots when it's on the shelf so I built some stands/axle cradles out of styrene. Wish I had done this along time ago. |

Good Job!! These could be useful for builds. Put 3-4 inches of tube on one and 3-4 inches of rod that fits inside the tube on the other, drill some holes to put a pin in through both at specific measurements for different wheelbases. It would make link and driveline measurements easier plus how a body sits and so on. Last edited by cjgotch; 01-22-2014 at 05:37 PM. |
