I broke mine trying to bend one.

But that may have more to do with the fact that; I usually have no idea WTF I am doing, more than anything else.

rod is cheaper though.

For a 1Ft of 2-56 Threaded Rod is like $1.50 at LHS, You can put a bend in it & attach ends, Done deal.

Usually if a screw is a flat black color it has been heat treated and is too brittle to bend.

I used some helicopter linkage for a Trex 600. $5 at the LHS and came with some nice steel bars that thread on perfectly. bent 45 degrees without stress cracks. Part # was AGNH60069

Those will bend nicely if you get them red hot but be gentle with them, they will take a fair bit of heat, or order some lengths of 2mm threaded rod this will need less heat i found though, i got mine from ebay.

thanks could i ask you where you got your ball ends from as you are in the uk

Yes those lengths of threaded rod will be fine thats what i ordered, just been searching through my reciepts but cant remember/find where i got the ball ends, i know i ordered one set from china on ebay i think they were made by 3racing. The other set were genuine losi from a uk model shop online but sorry for the life of me i cant remember or find where, i'll keep looking!

For the threaded rod I picked some up at a Model Zone store, they also have the aluminium tubing if you want to cover up the threading and make them look perdy.

I recomend drilling a hole through each ball end, makes them easier to live with.
