Thanks for the link to the tires. I think they'd look great under my Chevy build, & prolly would have never figured out where to get 'em.
I like to have full interior as well. I have carpet and cloth seats done on the LC80 build, but after I put on the body, it just hide almost all of the details that I've put into the interior.

Like Mike have said. Those Aoshima Super Swamper tires are perfect for 1/24 build, they will looks really good on the Datsun.

Update: Now that I've got the tranny fitted, its time to move on to the rear axle. Made a pair of leafs and some shackles, now the rear axle is mounted.

The leafs are made out of coil spring from those small Tomy pull back toy cars.

Managed to post another update of the work I've done last night.

Update: Got rid of the low rider style fenders.

Before -

After -

Then got rid of the mold lines left on the body.

The stance was a little high from the earlier stage, so I decided to lower it a bit. Had to cut out half of the gas tank to clear the axle.

Then I made some shorter shackles.

Now for the mock up.

The steering looks good. How/what did you fab that out of?

And I'm just curious- why didn't you start this build thread in the scale Micro section? Its tons more scale than either of my builds, which I have posted there. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/micro-scale-rigs/

Thanks Jeff! The new steering link is made out of paper clip and styrene tube.

I didn't know where I should be posting my build thread, because my rig is both micro and its made by Losi, so I though I should be posting it in the Losi Micro-Rock Crawler section, or did I post my thread in the wrong section?

I'm not sure it makes much difference where its posted, I was just wondering.

This section is much more active, so you'll get more input on your build. I often wonder how many people even realize there is a section for scale Micro's.

I like the linkage- I do believe that'll find its way onto mine! Thanks for sharing.

I think Losi Micro-Rock Crawler based rigs should be staying in this section and the other micro rigs, for example like the SSMT, Xmods, Mini-Z or anything smaller should be in the Micro section.

I personally like the new steering link a lot also, not only that it looks better (IMO), it also saved some space. But I can't take full credits on that, I borrowed the idea off a SSMT from a member at another forum.

This build is really starting to take shape now. You're accomplishing a very clean melding of Micro and model kit. It is going to be hard to hide the tranny in the interior but the skidplate looks like it's almost part of the model kit. Nice work on the leaf springs and shackles, they'll look even better painted black.

The wheels are perfect for an old Toyota. Those are Overland wheels? I'm sorry I don't know much about Mini-z's. I only have one and I can't remember where I have it packed away.

Let's see the poser shots I'm curious how those leafs are gonna work out for you...

Thanks Mike! I still haven't plan out for the interior yet, might have to tint the windows a little to make the tranny less visible. I'll be painting the shackles and leafs once I extend the drive shafts, install the servo and put in the ESC.

Those wheels are off a Mini-Z Caprice police car, it's smaller than the Overland rims. I've a few Mini-Z's and I love them as much as my LMC.

So far, the leafs are fine. The front leafs are just perfect, the rear leafs are a little too soft, so I will definitely need to stiffen the rear a little more.

Update: Front leafs attached to axle. Front axle mounted.

Aluminum drive shafts.

Flex shot.

Getting the servo install will be next on the list.

That's some impressive flex for leaf springs! I've been thinking about tearing down my Micro Chevy & going for a more scale rebuild using leafs & tucking the tranny up like yours is, but I was worried I'd lose too much articulation. From that shot of the 'Yota, I shouldn't be too worried.
