| Managed to post another update of the work I've done last night. Update: Got rid of the low rider style fenders. Before - After - Then got rid of the mold lines left on the body. The stance was a little high from the earlier stage, so I decided to lower it a bit. Had to cut out half of the gas tank to clear the axle. Then I made some shorter shackles. Now for the mock up. |

Are you going to use any shocks or just the leafs?

Update: Stock steering link take up too much space and I would like something a little more realistic. Front shackles. Leafs installed. |

The steering looks good. How/what did you fab that out of? And I'm just curious- why didn't you start this build thread in the scale Micro section? Its tons more scale than either of my builds, which I have posted there. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/micro-scale-rigs/ |

I didn't know where I should be posting my build thread, because my rig is both micro and its made by Losi, so I though I should be posting it in the Losi Micro-Rock Crawler section, or did I post my thread in the wrong section?

I'm not sure it makes much difference where its posted, I was just wondering. This section is much more active, so you'll get more input on your build. I often wonder how many people even realize there is a section for scale Micro's. I like the linkage- I do believe that'll find its way onto mine! Thanks for sharing. |

I personally like the new steering link a lot also, not only that it looks better (IMO), it also saved some space. But I can't take full credits on that, I borrowed the idea off a SSMT from a member at another forum.

The wheels are perfect for an old Toyota. Those are Overland wheels? I'm sorry I don't know much about Mini-z's. I only have one and I can't remember where I have it packed away. Let's see the poser shots I'm curious how those leafs are gonna work out for you... Last edited by Big Mike; 02-21-2011 at 07:19 AM.

Those wheels are off a Mini-Z Caprice police car, it's smaller than the Overland rims. I've a few Mini-Z's and I love them as much as my LMC. So far, the leafs are fine. The front leafs are just perfect, the rear leafs are a little too soft, so I will definitely need to stiffen the rear a little more.

Update: Front leafs attached to axle. Front axle mounted. Aluminum drive shafts. Flex shot. Getting the servo install will be next on the list. |

That's some impressive flex for leaf springs! I've been thinking about tearing down my Micro Chevy & going for a more scale rebuild using leafs & tucking the tranny up like yours is, but I was worried I'd lose too much articulation. From that shot of the 'Yota, I shouldn't be too worried.
