So I ended up staying up a little longer last night and made a hitch to go in the receiver..

Really looking forward to seeing the finished product here.

Are those 'shackles' made of solder? Nice trick if so.

Extended my mounting bracket lower. The entire differential sits about 1/4" lower.

What I would like the ride height to be:

Looks awesome. You're really talented and creative with the fab work. You make the rest of us looks like n00bs

this just keeps getting better!

FYI - if the Micro-T shafts end up working for you then you can possibly also use the 3racing CVD's (all the other brands will snap in short order) which will allow for more suspension movement without binding in the cups. It's just going to depend on what style the wheel shafts use ... D-slot or Hex mount ... and internal bearing size (micro-T is the usual 2x5x2.5mm).
DOH! just re-read and realized you were going to try to use the McRC outers ...

I'm trying
I noticed those when I was looking at the micro-t shafts. That would be really sweet if those work. My shafts shipped out, hopefully they'll be here soon..

In the mean time, I think I just made a brake through in how I'm going to do the springs both front and rear! It may cause a bouncy ride however. I'll post up when I try it out.

I also need to figure out what motors to run. I can't find any that will make the ratios match perfectly however I can definitely get it close. Anyone know what RPM the losi motors run at? Or what the final RPM of the losi transmission is?

if u run a gt3b with the losi kid hack you can do channel mixing with two ESCs.
that way you can actually speed up the front or rear 10% at a time ON THE FLY, AND have front and rear digs!
i run that on my XR10 MOA.

two escs from hobbyking
turnigy 18 brushless $25 each.
two bruhless motors of your choice ~$10

gt3b with hack from losikid at overkillrc $45

so $105 for a micro with dual motors, proportional front to rear speed and digs.

Would be worth it if this were a comp rig though.

Tried out my spring idea on the front and it seems to work pretty good. I imagine it will be a little bouncy but I'm not too worried about it.

I have a little test video of it but my phone is taking forever to upload..

Should be good, probably not any more bouncy than the stock shocks which are little more than spring guides at best. And the DP torsion chassis doesn't have any shocks either and it seems to work OK.

Considering the shocks son't actually do anything, I think you'll be fine. You should try to get the lower pad flat or the spring may pop out on a bad hit. It will also give you a linear more spring rate (at an angle the spring gets stiffer as it compresses).
