| Brushed ESC Opinions
*Altered sorry guys meant to say BRUSHED! *my bad Hey guys! I've been doing my searches on the forum on ESC's and was hoping if anyone could give me their opinion on "brushed" ESC's. 1. Would you recommend them over the stock esc/rx? 2. What advantages or disadvantages does an external brushed ESC have to the stock ESC? I see a few people recommending the B1R. I'm looking to keep wheel-speed of a stock motor with lipo but have a very smooth controllable low-end, i was hoping a brushless programmable ESC would offer this? Any help is most appreciated! I am a little lost...are you asking about a brushless ESC and brushless motor? The B1R is great...so is the Novak XRS but those are for brushed motors. You will also need a 2 channel radio and a receiver when running this set-up. The stock ESC is good. It will handle 7.4v lipo and a good aftermarket motor choice is a Atomic BB 34t. If you want brushless there are a bunch of posts that tell about the lack of a good all around set-up. You either get great low end on a 2000kv or great wheel speed with a 3850kv...not both from one motor. Most rigs stick with the stock ESC and mess with the lipo and motor and hope to find what you like Otherwise go custom! |

You won't get the programming out of a Brushed ESC that are going to do anything to help get low end control...unless you go with a Sidewinder ESC where you can program in throttle curves and such. It is best to just stick with the stock one and work with the motor and battery options. Good luck!
