no real progress on the tuber. Still pluggin away at it. Almost have frame ready and I have yet to get suspension workin. I assembled my BWD chassis so I can play with it. So now I dont have any mockup parts. Im having fun tho. I put a ID badge winch with a brass grappling hook I made on and a pretty sweet 3 link rear suspension also made of brass.

Did a little work today. Made a fuel tank to add to the rear to hide the battery. Aleviating the the bad site of the battery in plane view. Also added 34 grams to the front to help offset the weight. Before the weight was distributed fairly 50/50. Now it is more like 70/30 (nose heavy). Now the front tire grab a lot more when cresting a steep obstacle. Here are some pics of the fuel tank. I'm adding 2 mounting straps and will do some more detail work to make appear more full scale like. |

Did some more work on this little demon tonight. When I installed the fuel tank / battery box. I mounted it in the rear sub-section on top of the cross braces, seemed kind of high which created a high COG. It also didn't look right. After some measuring the fuel tank fit perfectly right between the rear shocks, even if the tank was lowered it would not interfear with shock movement. So I decided to cut out the cross braces of the rear sub-section and lower the fuel tank about 3/8". This required adding some tubing to support the fuel tank. It was a little more difficult than I thought it would be. But it's done. Here are some pics to share. It weighs in fully loaded at 296 grams! That's after adding 48 grams to the front axels!! Happy with that!! My other build H2 scaler. 404 grams total weight. Definitely on the heavy side. |

You did a great job on that buggy! Taking your time and being patient obviously paid off. Hopefully it wont take any hard hits and break it. One of these days when I'm not working 60 hours a week, I'll hopefully be able to build one too.

Video UPDATE I finally got some video this past weekend. It is 105 degrees here in Tucson, AZ (extreme desert). My camera was getting so hot it kept shutting down after about 10 seconds. So I had to use my cheap First person view (FPV) camera. So here is some Video, my rendition of KOH (king of hammers). This link has no music, so folks from EU and such can view due to copy rights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UflAwEz2BWY This link has music. Folks from across the pond may not be able to view it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-Gow5fTkeo Last edited by Savage00; 07-20-2011 at 01:11 AM. |

Bummer... Youtube does this when there is media owned by another entity in the video.. I assume you had some kind of background music in the video? That would be why they have blocked it.. i really wanted to see this thing in action too :-/ |
