Sure, you may want to grease up the axles. Better watch the servo doesn't get wet though. |

yes - but water + metal = rust - fair warning.

X2 to what TwistedXT said. Watch your bearings as well. There is no such thing as a "waterproof" bearing. In the end water and grit will find themselves into anything. Most importantly is to pack your axles with cheap white lithium grease. You can buy a huge tube of it from Harbor Freight for cheap. It also helps with keeping the axles weighted more down low. With your servo that would be my top concern. Use some Plastidip around the edges if you don't want to take it apart and fully waterproof it. Most important is the spline. Pack white lithium in there as much as possible with your fingers then put a rubber o-ring over it and then mount your horn. If you're willing to take it apart pack the top portion of the case with white lithium or some sort waterproof grease like dielectric until it oozes out the seams. Do it with the bottom side as well. Finally coat the entire servo with Plastidip. If you have heat fins around the servo after it dries use a hobby knife and cut out the heat fin portion. Once the Plastidip starts being pliable (5 min or so) use your fingers to ensure a waterproof seal. After all that you can submarine the entire servo with no issues. Use a rubber o-ring over the spline and mount the horn as well. |

A stock crawler no, but I did waterproof mine. I decased the ESC and coated it with liquid tape (similar to Plasti Dip) to keep water off that, and then I packed the servo horn with dielectric grease and coated the case in more liquid tape. For grease, I use Belray's waterproof grease to pack the axles, transmission, and all the bearings. The Belray grease does waterproof bearings (boaters use it all the time with great success), so you don't need a lot of it to do the job. Do these mods and you can go in anything you want, except salt water which will rust the crap out of your truck.
