| 55 Chevy stepside
This is the combination of a couple models I built when I was Kid. It doesnt seem too top heavy and the extra weight seems to help with the torque twist. The body gets hot glued on for now until i find a better way to mount the body. Any thoughts on where to hide the battery (that is accessible?

That thing is really cool!!!! Great Job!!! You could either make a tool box or bed cover to cover up the battery in the bed!!

I'm thinking about cutting the rear bumper and building a slot under the bed for the battery to slide into, the Rx would move up under the hood

Make a bed topper for it out of lexon and paint it to match and put the battery under that and just cut a hole in the bed for the wire. Like so |

That would have been easier than what I started. I tore the whole thing down the Rx is going to the front and the bed will be mounted with magnets. Anybody know of a 1s lipo with a pigtail?

Is that body 1:20th scale? It looks big. I've been using these with good success. They're only like $22 apiece at my LHS: Hyperion Catalog I cut the leads up and solder two of them together to make a 2s of approx. 200mAh or so. I get about 20-30 minutes or so out of them I think (never timed it, and you know how time can behave when you're crawling) I just put two of them side-by-side in the stock battery spot in my Trekker, but it's so easy to make saddle-packs out of these if it fits your custom build better. I've got a couple of these too. If you have the space it's a 2s already made up just change the plug: Hyperion Catalog Last edited by Big Mike; 03-29-2012 at 07:58 AM. |

Did some more work, now the battery fits under the bed in the fuel tank. the truck is a 1/24 AMT I think. I had some old magnetic stick toys I cut the magnets out of for the body mounts. |

| Re: 55 Chevy stepside truck ran great for about 15 min. today then there was a fire under the hood. I knew I shouldnt have waited on the fire suppression system. I guess I will be looking for a new Rx |

Any suggestions on a new Rx/esc??? If I use the losi 2.4 Tx is it universal to all 2.4 Rx's and vice versa?
