| Help me spend money on my trail trekker
What do I need to buy in order to make my trail trekker look like a monster truck? How, what and where do I get big tires for it. How do I get them on the trekker? What all do I need to do that? I would prefer to just buy new rims and tires. So I can keep stock ones. Lipo batteries... What should I get for long run times? What charger and battery do you suggest? Where can I get it? Where can I find a chevy truck body to fit it perfectly? Do I need to buy a new frame to make it fit your typical 1/24th scale model trucks? Thank you in advance! |

Well, I went out and purchased a army humvee model to use for the body. I also purchased a the excelleron? 2c lipo kit and the SCT/Rally BRUSHED high power motor for now. I just wish I knew what to buy to get monster truck like tires on it. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. PS: I read the miro bible, but a lot of it is old and geared towards the micro rock crawler. I know many of the parts are the same, but NOT all. Thanks! |

The wheels and tires that I used for KING KONG are from Lingdberg Dodge Rammunition.

I would say that they are a medium rubber tire, Their softer than the vinyl tires that comes with AMT/ERTL monster truck models.

Thanks DVS. Well, I found an ugly model I thought I would try until I work out my tires needs. Its not perfect. Yes, its a bad build job. I know. In fact its ugly, but my son and I think its cool for now. I found the "little red van" drag racer model at my LHS. Painted it green, chopped it up and threw it on there. I also found some other losi crawler rims and tires we threw on it for now too. Now its our hack job army like truck. Anyways... just wanted to say thank you and show you what we did so far. Nothing at all like most of the work on here, so please dont bash. But its a start. Thanks! Last edited by ILSMKU; 03-31-2012 at 11:01 AM. |

Add a sumo crawler esc to achieve 4mode 4wheel steer, i have 2 trekkers running them, awesome upgrade! no lipo cutoff, so you have to time ur runs
