Yes I made the frame with my laser. I have one in mind, still need to cut out the parts.

I was originally going to beet it up pretty well, but now I'm having second thoughts. haha

Thanks!

I've got it in primer! I need to green putty a seam on the hood. :/

I really need to decide on paint. I want a weathered look, but faded paint always looks like pastels. Like how a red becomes almost pink. Had also considered two tone, white roof and grill, and some other color for everything else. I like green but the factory green was ewww. Right now I'm leaning towards a dulled hunter green, with less fading, with some light rust on the horizontal flats. Maybe some flat black on the hood.

Please give feedback. I would like to here from the builders.

Fungi- where are you finding these little guys? I need a driver for my TJ but I'm having a hard time finding guys small enough.

There is also a youtube video that shows the process. I think he avoids the very top (feathers it out) when painting the gray and green. But the hairspray is definitely used on the top as well. It is stable until wet, so you can work slowly to get what you want.

I had some 64 Chevy time.

The parts are covered with a coat of rust brown. I'm afraid of the highlight part next though... This is my first airbrush project.

The interior is basically done.

Comments welcome.

Thanks!

I painted the interior testers sand then made a wash using tamiya dark brown. It was a bit too thick, but it's ok. Had to wait for hairspray. The wife wasn't parting with her personal stash. lol Still contemplating whether or not to try the highlighting with the airbrush. Really intimidated, may just skip it... :/

Awesome work Fungi! I can't wait to see how the body turns out. I may have to play around with washes for the dingy dirty look. I like it!

I love that chassis you made. Have you thought about makin the rear wheels have a deep dish look instead of bein the same as the front? Looks killer either way

Thanks everyone!

Yes I am making dually rear rims. For now it's got dual front axles with rear steer locked.

Well I went for it. I think it turned out ok considering it may not be visible in the end product. lol I'm just following instructions.

I had a little shop time. Applied hairspray, then the salt. Found spraying the hairspray one rim at a time is better cause it dries pretty fast. Had the pressure set to 15lbs to prevent blowing the salt off. >.<

I sprayed them with flat black, but I wish I had lightened it up as it would be faded with age. I added a light dusting of gray to help lighten them up. I may do a wash. Several coats of clear, then done.

On the truck.

Now I need to review the tutorial videos again before I tackle the body.

Thanks for watching.

Lookin bitchin! I wish I had an airbrush setup. I thought about trying some weathering and aging, but couldn't wait long enough to gather the stuff. I can always bust out the flat clear and pastels later...

The wheels look awesome. the paint job is looking good. what are you going to do with the "chrome" peices; is there a way to "weather" them as well?
