That design is a little over my head. So I asked my buddy to take a look at it. I'll be in touch.

Removeable rings (which the 1:1's have) would be a nice added touch.

Here's a stab at it...

Real

1/24th scale

The nuts are out a little too far, but any closer and they will get hit by the tool used to tighten the wheel onto the axle. They can be left off of course. It's pretty close I think.

My buddy gave me this design. It's not exact, but we will work on it.

What do you think?

Would be cool to have the rim edge photoetched by dirtmodeler!

PS, Got my work bench tops in and are putting together the benches.

Those jeep wheels look spot on I used to have those on my jeep when I bought them. Now if someone just made an xj model that would be epic

I agree, stock offset looks fine. These rims would be perfect on that rig! It won't be much longer.

In no particular order.

Yes, I can sell them ready to dye.

Almost all will be custom the first time. ;) But I can print it as many times as I need.

Yeah the 7 lugs was funny, we have the second version shaping up. It looks much more like the original.

Fun!

The printer can do it, but the cost would be outrageous. Best bet is to make molds for sides, top, hood, etc. Old school styrene vacuum molded parts to assemble a body. I would like to give that a go.

I would be interested in that! A 1/20-1/24 scale xj molded in lexan then I could make an rc version of mine

I just took the time to read through both your Spectre and Tuber threads. i must say wow. i didnt realise you had gone to the extent you have. Definately firstly congrats, and secondly Thankyou!

3d printing is definitely the future.

so before i order my rims. ( i know i cant order yet ) could i see the render you put up before, but have the spokes curve right out flush with the outer rim? so not dished please? and also will you be making the bead diameter slightly larger than the stock rims so the tires seat properly?? the RC4wd tires i have just dont quite sit tight on the stock rims. and id be looking for pin mount too.

edit: nut spacing is good too

thanks
