Default post all your CUSTOM micro parts and pieces.

hey everyone. im thinking about buying a micro rock crawler (trekker) in a month or two, and want to see all the custom made parts people have. iv got a mini mill and like making parts. post up any parts that you have custom made(if you have home made machined parts that would be awesome!). machined or made with dremel, hack saw, sand paper ect is allowed. no posting bolt on mods or "5 minute mods" please lol. you have to had made it your self. i have seen some cool parts people make but most threads are real old and the pix sometimes dont work.

no need to post the super common things like bent links and widened wheels

I have a crap ton of mods that I've done. Some more custom than others, all i thought were interesting. and all of them got a long story I'll make short.

^ Micro deset racer shocks on front

^Cable steer

^wire rod for my SMC blade chassis mod

^Servo behind transmission (first used pushrod, then the more effective cable steer)

^Micro desert racer rear shocks with Blade SMC leafs

^Glued servosaver and trimmed off the dumb. then used a screw to hold it down.

^Used this bracket with a pushrod although it had bumpsteer issues. (which is why i used cable now instead.)
On that note here is the pushrod

^Cut inside of tires and turned them around for a wider crawler. this was my FIRST mod.

^Narrowed the front of a Blade SMC chassis, made it easier to use larger tires without having to be too much wider.

^Fabricated a front towbar bumper out of a coat hanger

^Mounted MegaTreads tires on my Blade SMC crawler.

I have more too but I figured this already is too long. and I like pictures.... ask if there is anything else you wana see.

v(Current truck appearance btw)v

Thanks! it really was the largest success of the truck, unfortunately I should have mounted it on the other side of the truck, as the other side is where the motor is, and I could have used the space to place the battery... which now i cant because it cant be right up against the hot motor. ):

Yes people have done it (curse your epicness chevy55) and it's a pain to get the panhard bar right if you've never done it. Mine had too little space to do it right. it really comes down to can you get a good mounting location for it.

Welcome, I got my micro a while back and started doing custom stuff pretty quickly. The truck performs far, far better than stock now. Here's the link to my build thread.

awesome to see 3d printers being used for rc! i have looked at makerbots, but they have practically no accuracy. (it looks like +/- 1/16" based on pix of stuff that comes off them. )

you must be using a professional grade printer.

Portals are inspired by 1:1. Search the internet for unimog especially, but there are others.

zip tie jack. I should have done the ziptie the other way (its sideways right now) and put holes in it. but it was a quick build.
black wire and super glue made up the rest.

I swear, there are some of the smartest people on these threads... I'm assuming those portals are done using pinion gears? I NEVER would have thought of that. Is there a build thread for those portal axles? those are going to look so bada$$ under that jeep
