Return of the MATTRACKS

I figured out how to make them not turn around when the axle was turning but still allow the tracks to pivot when going over an object to allow for maxium contact patch."thumbsup"

Ill take better pictures later when I find the camera....

Can you show more pictures detailing how you got them to work? And include where you scavenged parts from? I'd like to take a shot at making these!

Thanks thorsteenster! I think you're right. It looks like two of those would build a full set for our micros.

Yup your correct! I got two sets of them and I got the plate set to. They really bearings and a different frame that supports the tracks wheels and they would be much better. They take a lot of torque it seems to turn them but I stil haven got the drive train in that truck figure out completly either. Im thinking a DANALLY motor and lipo would help alot. Cephas Ill take pics of a complete break down of them soon.

Let me know. I would love to see this thing in action!

I would say the 100t stroker. It is VERY slow and you can't stop it.

Heres the basic break down of the tracks.

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/IMG_3337.jpg

this is the back side of them and shows the piece of styrene that keeps this side of the track tensioned. Those two small hole at the bottom are for the srew were the spring attaches.

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/IMG_3338.jpg

I drilled a small hole through the spring and the knucles and taped it for a 2mm srew.

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/IMG_3339.jpg

I also taped a peice of brass tube for a 2mm srew and srew the brass tube to the axle. the 2mm srew in this pic attaches the assembly to the axle by srewing it to the brass peice.

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/IMG_3340.jpg

I cut a slot in the drive wheel so the pin on the axle will fit into it and the brass tube peice keeps it from falling out.

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/IMG_3343.jpg

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/IMG_3342.jpg

These show the inter and outer plates the mount idler wheels which I cut down a bit and bolt on using 4-40 srews for now.

Ill try get a video of these things in action asap. There pretty sweet."thumbsup"
