Default Southern fried with westcoast flavor.

Here we go again I started on this styrene mess to house the widened sumo axles that ended up under a chevy...I got side tracked & the buggy was left for dead on a shelf....madjones was over a few days ago & we got to talking about southern style buggies....So thanks to Mike I started back to work on the left for dead chassis....

Here is the mock up:

Damn dude, there are enough tubes on there to make a sky scraper! It looks good though, definitely looking forward to the progress.

Long wheelbase southern buggies are called rock bouncers I think.

Well I think the pass. side got warped from sitting on the shelf for 8 months, I spent a few hours trying to fix it but gave up on it

So another attempt with something I am more comfortable working with..
Brass

38 tiny tubes 76 fish mouths my fingers are sore as hell....I think the hard part is done, I will have more pics when my fingers & dremel recover

What do YOU use to solder with? Which flux and which solder? I don't want to ask anyone else because they're aren't even close to what you're creating!

I wanna learn from the best

Thanks man! Im not the best though just lots of practice...
For heat I use a Weller 140 to 100 watt gun, flux is water based & solder is 60/40 rosin core .032 dia.

Got a little more work done & ordered up some stuff

I will run this can its the same size as a 180 stroker BB

With this gearhead to the sumo t-case:

Pololu - 9.7:1 Metal Gearmotor 25Dx48L mm

So here is another mock up, still have more tube to add just checking how the 4ws will work out & 3s placement ..

I think the 2 fellas in the jeep will fit nice in the buggy!
