Smile HOMELESS HOBBIES Micro Toyota FJ build ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Losi Micro Trail Trekker

Well here it is! My first micro and I'm finally getting it together w/ some help from a VERY skilled master RC craftsman that goes by the name of BONDONUTZ here on RCC

Plan so far is to mount the body and maybe do a bumper but beyond that is a mystery and will be sorted out as we go!

The body being used if a Toyota Fj 1:24 body from a Toyota promotional RC car set.. VERY VERY Scale looking complete with a steel rod roof rack!

More to come soon!

While you wait... Check Out:

Just to clarify: Fat Kid Engineering is not a business nor do they sell anything they produce.
FKE is simply a collective of grown up kids that like to play with toy trucks and invent ways to make them cooler!

Hello and thanks for the "like"~

I really would have loved to used the stock wheels but the rear 2 wheels were molded into the real plastic axles and would have been too much work
to make them workable.

I'm planning on using the stock wheels for spares. one in the rack and one mounted to the rear.

I'm excited to see how it will turn out .. Never messed with a truck this small!

Have you considered cut tone the stock wheel 'face' off and drilling the center, then gluing it into the trekker wheel? I've never done it, but I wouldn't think it to be too difficult.

I've mounted odd tires by making the center hole correctly sized with a drill bit and then cutting a slit in the back for the bar through the stud. course you need to use a dable of glue to hold that in. but then it works perfect for aftermarket tires not intended for this!

This is going to be a wicked build!

You could also glue/epoxy/JB weld a hex to the back of the wheel & drill out the center. Then you just need to deal with tires.

I think I'm going to do the Gear Head delrin wheels and put some time into the stock wheels after the new year. Thanks for all the great ideas!
the tires shouldn't really be an issue.. There is a lip on the back side on the wheel so that will make it easy.

It is indeed! That played a big role in my decision to use this particular body.. Cool factor is 100% and it's super sturdy , hopefully keeping the top somewhat scratch free!

I wish someone made roof racks like that for this scale! O:

Hell I wish people made full sets of accessories for this scale without needing to purchase boxes of model cars just for parts.

That thing looks almost stock it fits so well.
