Default Quick and easy barrel nuts

I was thinking of ways to make scale looking wheel nuts and I found a quick easy way to make barrel nuts. All you need is a 3mm feathering shaft for 450 size helicopters, a 2mm screw and a washer. I used the screws from a Trekker/crawler that hold the rear hubs on.

Link for shaft : Align T Rex 450 Feathering Shaft AGNHS1003 | eBay

1. Cut the shaft to the lenght you want, up to 3/16" long.
2. Cut the screw so it dosn't hit the axle before the wheel is tight.
3. Put the washer on the screw and screw it in.
I used super glue for thread lock on the screw but make sure not to get it in the threads for the axle.

Compared to Crawler X nut.

Screwed onto axle.

Here's what I did for a scale look using black ABS plastic.

It's a rod end and ball stud for a Align 250 helicopter. I drilled out the ball stud so I could use a bigger screw.
