I saw an episode of CSI recently where a guy used one of these to make a one shot hand gun that left no riffling or distinct markings on the bullet.

SO, what I need to ask is what kind of clearance did you have to go through to own one?

The funny thing is that when I saw it on CSI I sat there only thinking about how one was being used to make a micro chassis. I have such a one track mind

Gotta say 3D printed stuff is always fascinating to look at. I take it the round pieces are inner wheel inserts for some bead locks.

Out of curiousity how strong is the 3D printed stuff compared to abs plastic?

Um... I don't know how it works! lol Magic I assume. lol

Getting closer!

The round parts are a built in demo part. I have cleaned off the support to see what is in there. It looks very very clean for HD, that's the lower resolution mode! There are even functional 4-40 threads printed into the part!

This material came in the machine. It's their standard material. I also have their new ABS formula. The strength is there, but the elasticity is not there yet. The parts are surprisingly strong!

Ok - sooooooo ..... can you make 2.2 wheels ? What is the weight of them? Strength? I 'm sure all of the guys with lightweight rigs are dying to know if a set of wheels that you make on that thing weigh less than a set of carbon fiber wheels.

What about a 2.2 chassis ? A buddy of mine designed a 2.2 chassis that I'd like to make in carbon fiber but can't find anyone to cut the design from the CF piece that I've got.

Awesome machine you've got there !!! More, more, more !

I'd love to know the strength for a alternative to buying another rim tire combo for my wild willy 2000 tires which are 1.9" dia but 2.25" wide
