Gentlemen, I've got the solidworks drawing for the roof and I will get it printed soon. I still have a lot of work, and I have had some major distractions lately. Please know I'm doing my best. I had to finally build a rig that is par with the rigs here. I got the 90T and lipo set up. I have another pinion gear that I want to try out. My wheels are using the 1/8" offset weighted rims! I made covers with the laser and glued them on. It's stainless steel look is a little darker than some of the other metals. I've glued the tires on the rims and have decided to make some changes to the design that may make them easier to glue up. The dark part of the rims is the dyed 3D material brushed with polyurethane and they seem to be holding up great! You can see on the roll cage tubing there are scuffs in the finish. This polyurethane was sprayed on. So I'm going to try some other brands. I installed a Hitec HS65 servo and the longer cable allows better placement of the electronics board. Stronger servo too... I installed the first hood I made (the painted one) and made side panels with the same stainless steel look material as the wheels. I will engrave a design into the side panel. I have a friend working on that. I replaced the battery holder with a stainless steel version. I still need to design the rear bumper. I've run many packs through it and have rolled it many times, remember scuffs mentioned above. haha No mechanical issues. But I really gotta beat the crap out of it to make sure it's tough enough. I have so much more to show and I know there are questions unanswered. I will get to them. Just not able to keep up at the moment. |

Hey Jim the wraith looks amazing! It crazy to think a few months ago that this was just an idea, it's come a long way. The possibilities are really endless with that machine of yours!

Sorry for the delay. I have the roof mold puck printed and have made some parts. I have also made a little logo for the Spectre that will be engraved on the body panels. I have also designed the rear bumper. I need to cut out the new pieces and I will have pictures. Hopefully this evening. I am looking at the chassis with fresh eyes. I think my friend and I did a good job making a smaller scale version of the Wraith. I think it turned out a little on the smaller end of the scale. It's probably more like 1:25th scale. I also think it is a little narrow for the proportions. Ahh the struggles of a perfectionist... However it is what it is. :P I could have done much better if I actually had a Wraith. lol If I sold it as is I suspect the biggest gripe would be the trans mounting plates do not allow any modification. I will be replacing the lower trans mount tubes with a DVP set up. These vertical plates will have additional trans mounting holes going forward. The next version will allow you to move the trans up to .80" forward in .20" steps. I will tie the upper link mounting points into the DVP assembly as well. Additionally the DVP assembly can be swapped out for other designs as they are easy to make. In addition it lowers the height of the 3D printed part which will make it faster and cheaper to make the chassis. I hate updates with no pictures. Hang in there... It is coming. |

looks great, but maybe i missed the point of having multiple trans mounts? moving it forwards would mean you would also have to move the front axle forwards.. perhaps id just need to see one setup to understand why it might be better.. cant wait for my rims too jim |
