Hi Guys thanks for the comments and ideas. I would love to make a 1:24th scale version of the R1, but I could use some help. I need some pictures from the top to help me finish the design.

Slambaam, hopefully yes. I will have a better idea of what is possible when it is entered into solidworks.

Just a take on a different way to go.

Me likey

How hard or time consuming would it be to bump this or the specter up to say 1/20 scale?

I would love one just a bit bigger to house a b1r, a small rx & of course a set of widened sumos!

Edit:
Btw slick looking link mounts on the axle!

Thanks Chev, I can't take credit for the link mounts, my buddy designed them. He did a great job!

It would be relatively complex to change to a different scale unless the parts were originally drawn with that in mind. It's generally easier to just draw it again. However I need to express some concerns.

Making larger parts increases costs dramatically. In fact the current wider Specter is much more expensive to make than the original Tuber. My jaw dropped when I weighed one of the Scorpion chassis. It cost me more in materials to make it then I planned to sell the original Tuber. I can make anything, but would anyone be able to buy? I am pretty certain I can make a go of the rims, but the chassis costs are skyrocketing. I seriously grimace when I turn on the power switch. LOL

May as well remind or establish some other critical limitations. The material is pretty strong, but it can snap if dropped, or even twisted by hand. Nothing can be done about it at this point, but they are constantly developing stronger and more flexible materials. For now I am confident the chassis will endure Losi drive train crawling. I simply do not know if the Specter chassis will hold together with Redcat drive train. :(

The material can not be subject to temperatures above 160F. The part can warp. It's UV cured acrylic. Sorry to be a major downer. Like I said, rims are not an issue as they are small and hockey-puck like in form.

I'm having fun making this stuff, and I will make it available if there is any possible way to do it.
