Default Jim's Beadlocks... O.o

Hiya!

The shop is coming together nicely. While the polyurethane was drying on the new benches I got more familure with my new laser. I blew my mind!

These beadlocks can replace the stockers directly. They are 0.06" thick slightly thinner than stock. These were made with brushed aluminum and brass colors, but they are plastic. I can do many color combinations, but the metal looking ones are really cool.

What blew my mind is the sudden realization of the vast asortment of cool parts that can be made with this tool and material.

Give me pics and I will make new ones!

Man those look real!

Is the finish going to scratch off on the rocks? Just wondering how long they will stay looking that good

Hey Dan the finish is durable.

I only had small sample pieces, came with the machine. I'm ordering in some large sheets.

I've had shop pics in all my other threads so may as well throw some in here. haha

I got my maple work bench tops in and got them assembled, routed, sealed and finished. Moved several folding tables out... Starting to look like a shop.

Now off to design more beedlocks.

Now I don't have this kind of equipment but is there a way to design the bead lock to be slightly thicker at the outer edge of the bead toward the tire to make it a true lock? Instead of having to do the pvc mod I thought of trying this with what I have laying around. You get the concept I'm thinking of? I can't describe it much better.

The parts are still plastic, so I don't know if adding a rim would be strong enough to work as a true beadlock, but I will see what can be accomplished.

I will be doing a saw blade one too.

I'm embarrassed with the quality of the ones above. I have learned the proper settings for the material and now that it is fine tuned they look much better!!!

Here are a few samples. I had the green/white so I had to try it. Will try a US Army one too. My new materials have not arrived yet, there are many colors and even shades of metal to chose from.

I will be testing these. Note the image does not convert precisely to the finished product for technical reasons, but very very close.

Show me what you want!

One note. These rings are super cool and everything, but the offset problem is still there for many rigs. I'm going to try to make a rim with screw holes for the beadlock screws and offsets ready to go. The factory molds metal threads into the rim. I can only to a self tap sort of friction fit. I will try it.

How thick are they? They look thick enough where a lip would hold the tire in enough. Either way these look pretty cool i'll have to pick up a set

These are from 0.055" to 0.063" thick depending on color/finish. But I cut them out from a sheet, no easy way to make them thicker at the outside edge. Thanks!

Hi RB, I am going to try to cut a sample of the ones you like. The text is really small and I'm not sure if there will be sufficient detail. We will see.

I have no information on larger sizes. I need the outside diameter, the hole circle size, number of holes, and size of holes.
