Default Best motor/gearing for 1s or stock 4.8V pack?

So here's the deal, I'm building a scale Jeep TJ based on a 4 1/8" wheelbase, Trekker width, and a DP torsion chassis. Currently I have a 90t Predator in the rig, running 58/10 gearing. The small rig doesn't leave a lot of room for a 2s pack. I'm limited to a stock pack under the hood or a small 1s LiPo. Are there any other motors out there that will perform any better than my Predator on limited voltage? Maybe a 55t 130 or something? Somebody has to have some input here...

Normally a 55t wouldn't have a lot of low speed, but this will be on a lot lower voltage. A 90t on 4.2-4.8v would be SOOO slow. The predator does alright on 4.8v, but still stalls out occasionally. I'm just looking for the most grunt I can get with the smallest battery possible.

Edit, I can add photos later if you want to compare photos of the original losi batt to the 250 venom.I think the venom lipo is actually smaller, its a little bit thicker but only 2/3 the width of the losi nimh.Mine has been easier to mount, its so much lighter velcroe holds it a lot better.I had them under my trucks bed and the nimh wouldn't stay with the velcro I was using very well, but the lipo is really secure.

I am not sure that you will find what you are looking for. Voltage is one thing that a motor can not make up for. You can do a faster motor like a 55 turn but it will hurt you a ton on the slow take off...it will require a lot more throttle to get it to move against an obstacle. If you wan to see it in an easy comparison, try your stock motor again and it would be close to that.

As for a 130 motor or stroker? I have never run one on a single cell. I bet it would be better but only to make it slower. Any attempt to make it faster will have grave results on the rest of how it runs.

My only recommendation is to try to find 2 single cells and make a second spot in the chassis for the other. Then make a harness to wire them in series to make 7.4 volts to the ESC. I have done this before when space was tight. There is no substitute for voltage/amps!

That's another problem in it's own Dan. I don't even have room for 2 seperate cells. The space I have for the battery is around 40mm long x 30mm wide x 8mm tall. I'm thinking of going back to my 80t Predator, running a single cell, and just enjoying the "double low" factor. The 80t should have a little bump speed over the 90, but that's probably the only difference.

I remember seeing a jeep with the same problem. You could always build a small off road style trailer to tow a larger battery as you wish. Its a last resort solution, but a flexible one at least since you can unhook the trailer.
