| Jim's Old School Scorpion! O.o
My friend Danally made a mistake and showed me how cool the Scorpion chassis is. I thought I would share what I have found so far. A quick search revealed this underlying drawing. I've added some lines to get started. The drawing is not very accurate though. The front view is a bit wider than it should be in proportion to the side view, and the 188" is way off... I'm going to narrow the chassis width to 1:24th scale, 3.3" . Everything's a tradeoff but I think it's a pretty good starting point. Last edited by Fungi; 05-27-2013 at 09:24 PM. |

I know whatever you do will be spectacular. The secret to this chassis is to keep it simple. I'll be watching!!!

Good things are about to happen here! I'm guessing this is gonna be a 3D printed job? Is this gonna be a build-off between you two? Steel VS. plastic? Man VS. machine? I can't wait to see this unfold either way!

Something about that is just so right! I think it is my new FAVORITE! It must be cause it is so different. You know, maybe since I was the one that started this one...hint hint No doubt my rims would look very "military" on it too! |

I noticed there is a center piece.....it would be sweet if you could make a universal skid to interchange between fungi tubers.

malofish- I believe his idea is to use an adjustable universal side plate system with the stock skid. I may be wrong though. The idea I like most is that you can possibly swap the plates between his chassis'. If that's not enough, the stock skid can then be transferred into other chassis designs on the market that suit a stock skid. Adjustable, but not fully proprietary...

Yeah the dual plates should make it hackable for other transmissions. They are relatively easy to make, even by hand.
