Default Jim's 48 Ford Tow Truck

I'm still doing the 64 Chevy, but I'm more interested in this 48 Ford at the moment. I'm making new rims for it as well. So far I've widened the slots for the frame so the body parts fit down onto the frame properly. I have opened up the wheel wells too. I will make the boom and support from scratch.

I used the two step kit. An iron based paint and a rust accelerator. Can't remember the name.

Will do my best.

I got a little more done. Floorboard cut for trans. Firewall glued, seat assembled. Getting ready to figure how to hide the electronics and wiring.

Used the same frame as the 64 Chevy, but lengthened 18" (.75") I made the dually rear rims. They turned out pretty nice. The rear axle is a McRC and the rear rims have a 0.23" reverse offset. The front axle is a Trekker and the rims have a .125" offset, so the rear is only .50" wider than the front.

Thinking red for this one.

Comments welcome!

Really liking the dually look and what you've done on the rear of the chassis. Great ideas. What size is the body?? Be cool as just a truck too
