Default how much weight will kill a trekker

so i just got my (daughters) trekker, used has a 1/25 scale bronco body on it.

was looking it over last night and laid it against a 1/18 diecast 46 ford pick-up body i have, one the kids got ahold of and tore up.

the axle width and even tires are nearly perfect to make a scaler. the body is heavy and bottoms the shocks hard, course the resin body appears to do that also. It would take some heavier springs or maybe a leaf setup to sit right. but the final question is, will the weight kill the drive train? the motor is am sure would burn up, would it tear up the trans and worms too?

I've used die cast, and can say with absolute certainty 2 things...
A: the trekker physically is capable of hauling it around without breaking, I did alot of hard crawling with one when I first started and the motor got hot, but with a quick charger I was able to run on and off for a few hours without anything burning out or breaking. they can take a lot of abuse before they break.

B: you would NEVER want to use a diecast body on a trekker. they're way to heavy. it would top over a lot, can't climb without tumbling, and with the shocks its even more likely to tip. I had to use jumbo tires, and a full droop no shock suspension to be able to use it, and honestly the same set up with a plastic body would have done WAY WAY WAY better.

in short: you can, and I strongly advise you don't.

if you want scale appearance and light weigh the hobby grade trucks are the best middle ground.

and if you need something a little more... durable there are wal-wart toys you can fit on a trekker that are durable and wont completly ruin performance. Like these:

(this one is my dad's Rig.)

we do have one of those 1/18th scale newbright mud jeeps, what ever they are called. that might work pretty well!

not a terrible selection when you start looking at them.
