Default Adding non-rotating ballast.

Came up with a way to add a couple of ounces of fixed weight to the front end. Using approx. 2.5" of 1/4" solid 'pencil lead', that is used for some bottom fishing rigs, you form a U or horse shoe shape then angle the belly of the U about 45°.

Then slip the open end around the worm gear housing from underneath with the belly bend hanging down below the U joint. You will need to take the wheels off and disconnect the lower front links at the axle. It will take a bit of fitting and trimming of the ends to get it to fit into position just right.

Once positioned, use needle nose pliers to tighten the front ends close against the worm gear housing. Will probably have to whittle some off the ends to allow for drag link clearance at each end of max throw.

The belly clears the U joint well and positions the majority of the weight below the top of the axle.

This is about the same amount of weight as the DDT wheel washers but is non rotating and lower.

Gonna try to post a couple pics of the new installation on my latest build, a BWD Micro Wedge on Miclaws stretched to the same wheelbase as a Trekker.
