That's why you need redcat axles! They can handle going fast.

| Re: 3D Printed Two Speed Transmission in that picture there looks like there was little to no grease. i packed my axle with tons of grease and its lasted for 2 years+ and i have hundreds of hours on it. not saying a lot of speed is good just saying grease could of help it last little longer. how fast were you going to do that?

Hey, no worries about being a buzz-kill. I love to see the gear carnage. And if there is a failure, ya figure out how to avoid it i.e. better component materials, better lube, different configurations ... That's what I'm all about. Just curious what kind of setup were you running and what were the conditions? |

Hey it's elsewhere's picture. He was running Miclaws and a brushless conversion. He did not mention how long it took to destroy the gears. I agree they were probably unopened with stock lube. It's a good idea to add lots more (plastic friendly) grease, and be aware of the potential damage increased speeds can cause. |

Just an update.. I'm still working on printing these small toothed gears and am waiting for the new print heads to show, so I can achieve this more easily (hopefully). In the mean time, is anyone that plans on getting this trans have a third channel on their setup?

No third channel yet, but I've been thinking of getting one.

If you don't have third channel is it possible to shift the transmission by hand?

Another update.. So, I got the extruder heads and to my unpleasant surprise found that the whole thing was broken in multiple pieces. The packaging was absolutely horrible. I mean, they might as well have shipped it in an envelope. I don't have time to get another one shipped here so it may very well be a month until we'll see any updates, as I will be making my way back to the states in the near future. Yeah, was thinking about a manual shift option. |

I'm wondering just how much speed you think these will handle? How about brushless on 3s? I have a little speed demon in the works. I would actually like one to better handle the slow speed control. |

| Re: 3D Printed Two Speed Transmission We will have to see. The transmission is currently designed to use stock gear ratio(depending on pinion) and around 18:1 for the other.. I the fast gears I made replace the stock pinion and main gear.
