Codyboys micro crawler course. Ok, so I have aquired a couple Losi trekkers in the last couple weeks and desided to build a outdoor course to run them on. I did a little research on the net to find out how to build faux rocks. It isn't like we don't have rocks were I live, I just wanted to try making some to see if I can do it! What can I say, I'm 65, retired and STILL play with little cars!!!! So here is what I started with: http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5447.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5449.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5452.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5450.jpg So this is progress at the end of day one, 94 degrees, I need a cold one!!!! http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5453.jpg OK, I'm FAUX ROCKING now!! http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5454.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5456.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5457.jpg Recipe; plastic milk jugs, styrene foam sheats, spray foam, chicken wire, portland cement, vermiculite, peat moss and fine sand. |
Re: Codyboys micro crawler course. The start of another day, looks like maybe another hot one!!! http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5460.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5461.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5462.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5463.jpg This is one of the corner anchor stones ( the biggest one on the whole course). http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5464.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5465.jpg Another day, another dollar, 96 degrees today, I think two beers would be in order!!! "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup" Just thought I would throw these in here, my 10th scale course. 14 pickup loads of rock and 25 yards of dirt. http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_2938.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_2937.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_2934.jpg |

Re: Codyboys micro crawler course. I finished up the rock and did a little painting and blending. Kind of going for a Southwest look. http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5468.jpg http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/...g/IMG_5472.jpg |
Re: Codyboys micro crawler course. I love it! I really want to do this myself and seeing how you are doing it gives me even more ideas! Thanks! |

Re: Codyboys micro crawler course. That's an awesome set-up! Hoping to move into a new house soon with some land so I can build a couple of courses for my rigs. Likely one for my Mini and then one for the Micro (my son's). Great Work! |
