I think I'm with ya on the weight recess, I personally don't like it or need it. I'd preffer to have that left out and the rim I.D. go all the way to the slots... Like the second picture I posted.
It would really open-up the rim's I.D. and make it more visually pleasing... If you did that you could maybe enlarge the slots a little bit as well?

Can ya do a render of that, And also a render with NO lugs at all for comparison.

Just let me know what you can do.

p.s. Is it possible to move the lugs inboard just slightly without affecting mounting nut? I don't mind turning down the lug wrench to fit the rim... the lugs just look a little to far outboard. I realize they probably are where they need to be and I can live with the location if they cant be moved.
I also would like these rims in a 1/8 offset. That should add to the deep-dish style of these rims, which I prefer.

Maybe this will help...

What say you?

I did this before I saw your reply. It is 1/8 of set, the first one was too. There still is a raised portion, but it's not as tall as the original. The lugs are still in the same place. I will move them and see.

This is closer, but I need to work on it more.

There's a link to his vendor page on page one of this thread. There's more info there.

Nice work. This is much closer to what I'm after...

I'd like to see the slots enlarged just a little bit and moved closer to the center of the rim.

I like all the contours and also where the lugs are at in this new render. Cool, the offset is good then. Everything else looks pretty good right now too... If ya could just tweak the slot location and size.

p.s. Could ya throw 8 lugs on there as well?

I'm starting to like it now. For as simple a rim as it is, was tricky to get right. What do you think?

I think it's very nice. Pretty darn close to where I wanted it.

I have a question regarding "offset". I have a Trekker, are the stock rims on the Trekker 1/8 offset already or not?

The flat of the hex mounting plate is lined up with the center of the stock offset rim.

SO that being said. You could say the "stock" rims have basically 0 offset..VS the centerline anyway.

I just want to make sure I don't get stock offset rims. I know you said these were already 1/8 offset. I just needed to clarify if stock had any offset.

I know technically what offset is, I just wanted to make sure I was getting 1/8 offset vs stock. I think were on the same page now.

Thanks.

Nice working with ya on these. I think I'm ready to order. I'd like 5 rims in the 8 lug, 1/8 offset configuration. What is the ordering process?

I can't wait to see what you come up with! You did a good job on those slotted-mags, they look good.

It's looking good so far Jim! Maybe just make the ribs in the spokes a slight bit higher. And maybe change the center so it's not so round. Maybe change the edge by the lug nuts to be more concave than round. that would be my suggestions. Otherwise it's coming along very nicely!

I did more with it last night before your comments. I have a little more tweaking to do. The round center is going to be fixed, just working on the spokes primarily. I can make it a lot more accurate, but would require modifying the lug tool to reduce the diameter.
