Default Started on my first micro crawler build.

Trail Trekker build

I'm gathering all of my parts for my first micro build. A Trail Trekker, well whats left of it anyway. Here's my parts list so far:

Stock Losi Trail Trekker = $150.00

Spektrum DX2L Radio = $69.99

Hot Racing:
- Aluminum steering drag link = $8.88
- Aluminum gear case = $18.88
- Aluminum gear box cover = $18.88
- Aluminum rear axle lockouts = $16.88
- Aluminum servo mount/tray = $8.88
- Aluminum c-hubs = $16.88
- Aluminum steering knuckles = $16.88
- Aluminum cross member/skid plate = $8.88
- Brass bushing king pins = $4.00
- 56T hardened aluminum spur gear = $6.88

RC4WD
- Aluminum bead lock wheels = $49.99
- Interco Super Swamper TSL Boggers = $15.98

Crawler X
- SMC Blade 5.5 EX leaf spring chassis = $44.97
- Micro wheel widener kit = $9.97

Parts to extend driveline
- 1/8" x .014" wall aluminum tube for links = $2.99
- 2/56 full threaded rod for links = $4.99
- LOSB1049 mini-t ball ends for links = $4.29
- 9/32" x .014" wall aluminum tube for drive shafts = $6.79

Still not sure on body. I have several that are ready to drop on to a stock trekker but they are all too short for this.

The top of the tray rubs the inside but not so much that it restricts movement

How is the alumminum tray ontop of the servo mounts holding the leafs?

The 2 blue pieces attached to the bottom of the aluminum tray act as a spacer for the leafs mounts as well as the mount for the servo. I mean anything could be rigged up to work without the aluminum tray but this is how I wanted it. Usually people build leaf chassis for scale realism not articulation.

Also it adds more weight to the front. Another thing I noticed is since you did not use the little relocation brackets for the leafs on the front to bring them up it should give a nice rake on the chassis with the rear being slightly higher. Looks good man.

No sorry I don't. I usually run into people with buggies and bashers but not crawlers.
