Default Jim's 34 Ford "Backwoods Towing & Recovery" O.o

I've had this 1/24th scale Lindberg model to make a tow truck. A facebook page Pirate Micro Bashers was having a build-off, so I thought this would give me the incentive to finally build it. I had the month of August, but I was done in a little over two weeks.

I wanted this to have plenty of flex so I designed a frame that allowed the body to be mounted very low. This made the cog low even with the tall 1934 cab. I made new upper links and used the stock lowers.

I can tell you the model is not an easy build, and it does not have an interior tub. I had to finish the interior completely, mask off the windows from the inside, then glue the floor into the cab. It was quite challenging.

I added 20g to each front rim with no foams and no added weight to the rear. Danally 90T with stock gearing and original ESC provides smooth controllable response. It actually crawls very well, and can take a roll over. ;)

There's a 180mAh 2S Lipo under the hood, and the ESC is under the flatbed.

Enough talk... Pictures!

Thanks for watching, and comments welcome.

jim, you either have serious ADD issues,

Don't sleep,

Or have found a productive way to focus the energy from a serious addiction to crack.

those are the only options I see where I would be able to do as many projects as you do, and you do them well

that tow truck is awesome.

What a killer build, especially the paint job....but the wheels are too nice, they should be weathered like the body....

Thanks for the kind words everyone. The build rules only allowed $100.00 worth of extras, so I opted not to use anything from my 3D printer. However, now that it's over... Muhahaha

I'm making new rims. I have them printed, but they still need paint.

A Warn winch for the front. I still need to draw the fair lead and mounting bracket.

And an amber utility light for the cab. I'm still working on this part.

Thanks again for the nice words!

haha, well it's a custom frame. The stock frame would have the body way up too high. I'll post pics of the frame by itself soon. ;)
