I give up on Tapatalk. I've posted 3 different times breaking the information up into smaller sections each time. I'll post when I find a dang computer

Been in and out of the crawler scene for a while. Had a few and then our area lost interest then our hobby shop closed. I've had this Micro laying around for some time and decided to tinker with it some. Last edited by Rocketmanh5; 11-27-2014 at 04:33 PM. |

| Re: Nick's Crawler and Course build After the typical micro mods (all found under the "Micro Mod Bible" forum, for those Googling info or for those who have not seen it yet) it was time for a decent motor. Danally's 100 turn motor provided excellent torque and speed for a great price. I ordered some tires and before leaving for Thanksgiving vacation they arrived. So I figured I'd bring them and mod the wheels and test them on some true rocks... upon arriving in Missouri I realized I had forgotten my tool bag with everything in it. Instead of purchasing tons of tools I made do with what was available. My mother's tweezers, sister's fingernail clippers (use the file on the end to clean up the rough edges on the cut wheels.), and a dollar tree blade. Tractor supply had a decent deal on a cheap driver set so I grabbed it also. There is now no excuse for anyone saying they don't have any tools to mod their micro. I used the bottom of the barrel guys lol Last edited by Rocketmanh5; 11-27-2014 at 09:52 PM. |

| Re: Nick's Crawler and Course build Ahh the joys of living with women. Commence wheel modification. Cheap blades are not the way to go but work in a pinch. widened wheels for new tires to clear. Use a good glue, remember they take a beating when they tumble. Last edited by Rocketmanh5; 11-27-2014 at 05:21 PM. |

| Re: Nick's Crawler and Course build I have multiple rc's but the funds, they are scarce haha. College budget, Ramen noodles and cheap lipo's.

| Re: Nick's Crawler and Course build These tires make a drastic difference in the handling of the rig. Plus added clearance, and when they say they grab well, they do just that. All finished up...for now. A few photos from today at Table Rock lake. Now once we arrive back home I will continue the modifications to help this little rig. I need to research more on the gearing of these as the tires are way larger than stock and change the way the truck feels. It's slightly quicker (very very little but the diameter increase changed drive some). Also upon arrival I can finish the course segments I started a few months back. It looks cool with the modded wheels and those tires. I was thinking about getting a set for my sumo crawler but I think I'll wait until I find a different motor to bump up the power before I expect it to turn more rubber.

| Re: Nick's Crawler and Course build I like the look also of the deeper dish wheel. I wonder if he can wind you one for yours. I'm unsure the difference between the losi and sumo. Been away too long now lol

A few months back my girlfriend and I began building an indoor crawler course. Just a half of a day to purchase the products, layout, and finish. Most things were gathered from around the house. Found some foam at Dollar Tree since no one in town had scrap foam and we started using shredded board at work instead. A tube from a wrapping paper roll, a paper plate with packing for support, and while at my parents found a box of cakes and jacked the box. Went a different route half way through. Decided to use some spray foam to try and shape. Time for plasture. And done. Total investment was under $7 for this one section. I still have 6 more to go that will all be able to be swapped around yet all match up in every way without odd drop off sections. Easy storage. Pull out lay on pool table and play! Not many places here in Louisiana to do such, so artificial is the way to go. Last edited by Rocketmanh5; 11-27-2014 at 11:10 PM. |

| Re: Nick's Crawler and Course build You won't get anything near what the stock losi can ad with a 100t. It's very slow. If u want a good balance between wheel speed and monster torque and you have room for a 180can, qgo with danallys stroker motor in a 55t or 60t. I have both and it's amazing.

I've got a 90 and it's just to slow even on 2s I have 2 new 100 turns but I figured they would be even slower lol. I like the wheel speed of the stockers but it's crap on bottom end and start up it seems to stall out easy
