| ??ESC/Motor compatibility??
Just wondered of one of you could answer a question for me? I have been thinking about trying to use a different ESC for a micro build. My current ESC/receiver stock unit will not reverse. I tried messing with radio settings, swapped motors; all to no avail. I have a micro spektrum receiver on hand, so I thought maybe I'd use that with a separate ESC to power the truck. I have the opportunity to pick up a Losi mini crawler ESC for pretty cheap. Would it be alright to use this with the micro crawler motor? I'm afraid it would burn it out or something. I have my project sitting at 90% completed and this problem sorta stopped the progress in its tracks and it has been on the shelf for awhile. Is there anything else I could try? I wanted to try to recalibrate the ESC like any normal one, but can't find any info on this. Just thought I'd ask before I rip apart my rig to change everything.....thanks in advance for shedding light on my issue! Here's my rig.... |

I would think the s/c from the mini would be fine or even a separate receiver and sc, but hopefully someone with actual use will chime in, i can say that the rig looks good, did you do a build thread? would like to see more of it.

I don't know about the mini esc, but if you just need a cheap esc, try these. They're under ten dollars with shipping off of eBay. They come with or without a brake, although it doesn't really matter with worm axles. |

I am running spektrum dsm receiver and a brushless speed control and 7.4 lipo and before I had brushless I used 1/10 scale brushed esc on 7.4 on stock motor with no problems

Just went thru the build thread, nice work, hopefully you get the sc sorted out. There not much fun if you can't get to break them let us know how it works out.

I honestly can't speak to much for experience with these. I only ran one of them once, and for only one battery. It's the esc I'm using in my mud truck build. For the price, I figured, what the hell! For the short time I used it though, I had no complaints! I might end up ordering more in the future. By the way, it's nice to see that truck again. I was following that one. I got mine in from China 8 days after ordering! Got it all hooked up in a sumo crawler and it works great. This was an awesome find! Its smaller and lighter then the losi one and it has drag brake. Thanks!
