Micro servos.

Steering servo recommendations. Now i have rear steer need both servos to match as i c rear steers slower. I have a futaba s3156 that came with a rig and i used it. On 2s it is 33oz torque which is nice for my miclaws... but at $40... anything out there cheaper and just as good? I could buy 2 and move this to my mud truck...

I love the cheap mg90 servos. Sometimes you can find US dealers but usually have to wait 2-3 weeks for them to ship from China. I buy 4 at a time. They are strong and even come in a metal gear option. I used to get about a 10% bad out of the box rate but haven't had a bad one in ages.

Re: Micro servos.

I have to agree with danally, I bought a bunch of them super cheap, and only had one bad one. For the price they can easily be replaced when needed. And they work just as well, if not better than my hitec HS-65mg.

I think S is for metal gear. Not positive. You really don't need metal gear. I only buy them when there is a place in the U.S. That has them when I am buying.

all the MG90 servos should have metal gears. that's why they are "MG"90 the mg90s is supposedly rated for less torque, though all the specs i read on the various websites are the same

Not unless you have changed the receiver and ESC out to separate units.

Can't say I agree with you on that. I've had a hitec in Ol' Blue for a year and a half with the stock esc, and have had no problems.

What would be the symptom that it isn't working correctly? Just low response due to lack of power?

Also, is the MG90s plug and play?

Look at Servodatabase.com! It will tell you virtually everything about every servo made.

A little late on this post :P but i used Turnigy™ TGY-306G-HV Ultra Fast/High Torque DS/MG/HV Alloy Case 3.7kg / .05sec (US Warehouse)
out of my 450 heli... lots of torque relative to a trekkers size. 34oz @ 4.8v, 43oz @ 6v and 51oz @ 7.2. Also nice to add a little bit of weight down low over the axles too.
