Default R.Billy's Specter

Just thought I'd show my take on one of Jim's (Fungi's) Specter chassis'. I stole parts from other builds to put it together, but I was so excited, I had to throw it together! Right now she's set up with a Danally 60t stroker big block (huge!). Of course, the stroker motor is pretty much all I use. other than that, it's stock axles, ESC, and an mg90s servo. A little Tunigy nano-tech 300-mah battery sits next to the huge motor. I don't have any good wheels and tires for this, so another shapeways order might be happening soon. Love those wagon wheels, Jim! The pictures don't give the color justice. They look more blue, but it's actually purple with a silver cage. Anyway, here she is.

Here she is with an old set of Baja Claws on un-weighted wheels.

And a flex shot. 3 Miclaws and an HR wheel wrench! Not to shabby.

And just for $h!t$ and giggles, here's a pic with Miclaws. They look a little funny, but I'm curious to try them out. I have a feeling this thing will kill with them on!

Miclaws look huge on there. I was hoping they would look like at set of 54s or something. Might have to re-think my plans for the specter.

Yeah, the Miclaws are rather large. I'm actually thinking of something smaller than the Baja Claws. I think the rock crushers look reel good. Too bad I don't have a set.

Also, here's a shot with stock tires and wheels, if anyone was wondering.

I've been driving this thing off and on all morning. I've already ran 3 battery packs through it, and all I can say is "awesome"! This thing will crawl anything, even without weight in the tires. Definitely a great chassis!

The Miclaws I have pictured are different sets in each photo, but both are on Danally wheels. The Baja Claws are an old set I have mounted on a set of modified stock wheels. They're not the greatest, no weight and they have foams, but they actually don't work so bad. The Miclaws are weighted, and work well, but are so large they just want to throw the rig around. The massive amounts of torque from the stroker big block doesn't help that to much either. Once one of those big tires goes up in the air, the whole thing wants to follow it! I have to say the Baja Claws are much better on such a small rig. I would like to try a set of rock crushers, they're about the only tires I don't own yet!

Well, it's been a long time since I've updated this one. Since the last time I've sent the axles motor and tranny back to their rightful owners. And the cage has been sacrificed to another project. But due to a printing error on the first chassis, Shapeways had sent me a replacement chassis. So now all I have left are a brand new chassis, minus the mounting rails, and some purple body panels. But wait, there's still hope! I have a micro sct that's been laying around in parts, as well as a new, unused Druonu chassis from Shapeways that I've yet to use. I have all the parts to set up the chassis, as well as a Trail Trekker esc and controller, and some hsp tires. Everything I need to put her together! now I'll have a fun little go fast rig for bashing!

Well.. I just couldn't part with the sct frame. So I ended up getting an ECX Ruckus. At $80, I couldn't pass it up. This little Specter chassis fits perfect! So aside from a possible color change, she's done. I already took her out and did some micro Foff hill climb action. This thing is fun! But it looks like my five year old has laid claim to this one already. I might have to build another for myself now.
