Default Eureka!!!!

Went to the back bedroom/store room to again look for those few trucks that I knew had to be in there somewhere. Was just about to give up once again when I saw a long box with 'Micro Crawlers' written on it. Broke into my happy dance with a 'Yee Hah' that I hope didn't wake my neighbor. There's L to R, the experimental McRC with Futaba rcvr and Micro Sidewinder ESC, the 5.5" McRC w/Black body that's in the pics of my rock piles, the 5.5" Wedge from the VDO of it on the big rubble pile and one brand new un-finished Trekker! Well, there have been a few parts robbed from that new Trekker but the frame, electronics, drive train and suspension are intact.

Found and bought a lightly used Trekker, totally stock 'cept for a DDT Predator 90t motor! Test ran it on the Porch Pile and re-discovered the difference between a stock one and one that has been set-up for actually crawling on rocks.

Stayed up late last night disassembling, checking and changing parts. Flipped the motor/trans, put on a higher power servo, installed bent u/l links and non-rotating ballast down low. Next comes lighter springs and DDT offset bead-lock wheels and different tires. Probably clipped Miclaws from my stash.

It is running well after a few revisions. Added the non rotating weight to the F/R axles, mounted the clipped Miclaws on the DDT b/l with some red HR rings. At first had the Miniqlo bent lower links (and home made/bent upper links) front and rear and was a bit disappointed. Put the factory links back on the front, concentrating the weight toward the front axle by ~5mm, and it is now a beast! Comparatively speaking.

Shot w/ body sitting on top.

All pics are hand held using G3 phone. Too many other hobbies to spend money on to get a camera. Not to mention having to learn how to use it.

Worked with the springs/suspension some, then got the body trimmed, mounted and tested. Might could stand a tiny bit more trimming of the fenders but crawls pretty well.

Before I moved the drivetrain around to a Micro chassis and the Fungi Goat chassis, I had the stock body trimmed nearly the same.

Decals removed and the windows cut out, too. It looks totally different.

It's a slow night at the hospital, so been thinking and doodling to help visualize some ideas on the weight and balance of the Losi Micro Crawlers. Have previously tweaked the dual Micro T springs on each shock to a soft, progressive rate so there's a bit of droop from the beginning. Now gonna work on ways to get more of the overall weight to be suspended as well as lowered at the same time.
