Building a new chevy stepside this time. Well since I have a 1:1 stepper I figure it's only fitting to build some smaller versions. I started a clod based one but lost out on the beds that were being produced for a short time. Around that same time I grabbed this model and figured I'd get to a micro one eventually also. Well the 1/10 fizzled, so the micro takes over I scooped up someone else's project to use. Consists of a nearly new trekker with a fungi leaf frame, rc4wd beadlocks and boggers and we set off. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b4a655ac9a.jpg Minor trimming to the inner fenders to get to the level I want https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...89b7c47333.jpg Started to build the box. Lots more work needed here, the kit falls pretty short on bed details. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4bbf7ce2be.jpg Made a front cab mount https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b1a207be18.jpg Mocked up to realize the bed was not matching the wb https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ca2ab35877.jpg Started a minor bed extension https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f77839b817.jpg Finished filling the sunroof hole https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b316aabfa3.jpg Minor floor hole to clear the motor https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...979d9b8157.jpg Other bed side extended https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6fe360f480.jpg Latest mockup https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...55990e41e5.jpg More to come soon. Re: Building a new chevy stepside this time. Well this one was totally on the back burner to finish my crew cab build, but I drug a bucket of parts with me to my bro in laws for turkey day and had a little spare time to hack together another runner. The paint was not cooperating the week prior to thanksgiving, and I still have not built the step for the other bedside, but I figured, ah heck with it, let’s make it go, then I can pull it back apart and paint it up. It was basically this way for months now minus the red on the cab. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...89a0f0d4ad.jpg I popped in some windows, the interior with a bit more trimming, an mg-90s, and just abandoned the receiver to the bed for time crunch purposes. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c7a2c6298b.jpg Overall it works totally awesome. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d9cc5b1faa.jpg Even enough daylight to get it outside https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d263c1ad8e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...af32fb3aaf.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...641a78e964.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9c53d4f058.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8889899c71.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...245d0a6fb9.jpg Unpacking today damage report The hood corner did not prefer the 35 degree temp and a few tumbled... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6baa208dd6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...13012a6fdd.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c0df3a8e52.jpg Now to pull it apart and finish it up. Re: Building a new chevy stepside this time. Been a while since I’ve done anything with this thread, and still have yet to actually finish it up, but got some brushless power in it recently . Had it out this weekend at a local spot with my big trucks https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fc1f480eb1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...70036b7945.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...57f5ed5456.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c466967a9d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8163822770.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dedbdf9e1a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f2e0e065df.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d77e631fa7.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...74d536372e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7001c4f1b2.jpg I’m also actually going to finish it up this time also...
